Damn, how can I say this. Hmmm...well, I'll say the Jets' season is over. Done. Finished. However you wanna say it, we're toast.
The win against Miami in week 3 boosted their morale, and going into Buffalo week 4 they were confident enough. But, of course, they lose to the Bills, 17-14, and drop to 1-3.
And this week, in the New York vs. New York battle for citywide bragging rights, we lose AGAIN, 35-24. The Giants just about manhandled the Jets, even if the score might not show it, in some eyes.
The big story of this game was young Aaron Ross. Ross picked off two Chad Pennington passes in the fourth quarter, one which led to an Eli Manning touchdown pass, and the other which was returned for a touchdown. It's especially impressive because Pennington is one of the league's most accurate passers.
The Jets scored only 1 offensive touchdown, a pass from Pennington to Brad Smith in the corner of the end zone.
I think it is safe to say no one expected the Jets to start out this slow. Sure, some games losses are inevitable, such as the Patriots, but the loss to the Bills was really not acceptable.
Basically, one New York team's season is over, and the other's is just getting started. Well, at least the Jets had one bright spot. Long live Jonathan Vilma.

That loss P*SSED me off! That could be it for Pennington. Everyone knew they were gonna start off 0-2. But the loss to the Bills was not a good sign. Then this loss where they imploded in the 2nd half hurt. And to the Giants no less. Ugh...

The Jets were not going back to the playoffs this year anyway, so just take every unexpected loss this year as a boost up the draft board so maybe you can get a top 10 pick who can have some real impact for ya'll next season and get you back into the postseason. I say it may take at least 11 wins for a team to get an AFC wildcard this year.
