AccuScore analysts Gibby McCaleb and Stephen Oh predict and analyze the biggest game of the season, the New England Patriots playing the Dallas Cowboys. Beyond breaking down the game in greater detail, AccuScore has run simulations with Drew Bledsoe still at quarterback to gauge Romo's value, run games without Moss and then again without Owens and again without Witten plus detailed looks at other key players not on the radar that have a significant statistical impact like Asante Samuels and Adalius Thomas. AccuScore has also tested a theory proposed by ESPN's Gregg Easterbrook about teams who should rarely punt and have also adjusted both teams to a 70/30 pass to run ratio to see the impact of a pass-heavy strategy for both teams.

Gibby McCaleb is an NFL analyst for AccuScore, a writer for AOL Sports and is featured expert on the San Diego Charger's radio station, 105.3 FM.

There is no 'h' in Witten. Why does everyone spell it that way?

October 10, 2007  10:01 AM ET

Good catch. I can't spell. You should see how many different ways I;ve screwed up Shaun Alexander! They should release a sports names spell-check dictionary for Word. Thanks for reading!

It's not just you...I see a lot of people do it.

Thanks either way. Hope you enjoyed the analysis and videos.

Great blog and analysis. However the real Superbowl is 42, and that will be between the Steelers and Cowboys, FYI.(Steelers get revenge for '95 SB loss)

Good blog once again Gib ! I wasn't too far off on the line prediction i sent you the other day.I predicted a 6 1/2 spread in favor of New England and it looks like it's bouncing up and down at the casino's anywhere from 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 in favor of the Pat's.

October 10, 2007  11:49 AM ET

Yeah, you were nearly dead on as it opened at 5 1/2. What is interesting to me is the AccuScore user's poll has a slight edge to Dallas for the win at 52% to 48% for the Patriots and Dallas getting almsot 60% of the votes against the spread. Not sure what that's about or maybe AccuScore attracts a high % of Dallas fans...thanks for the great comments!

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too early to annouce super bowl predictions but if it were to start next month I would say Colts and Packers, the passing of the torch game.

October 10, 2007  12:48 PM ET

I just thought it was a clever title but in the videos, I clearly say week 5 is way too early to call the Superbowl. The Packers have a shot, no doubt but I htink Dallas is still playing the best football in the NFC right now. We'll find out for sure in November. Thanks for reading!

Hey you forgot to factor in the camera guy that will be stealling signals from the Cowboys sideline. Tell Bill Bili-cheat to leave the cameras at home this time!!

October 10, 2007  03:29 PM ET

Patriots 52 - Cowboys 10

if superbowl (PATS vs COWBOYS)
PATS 38 - Cowboys 6

Make Sense ??

October 10, 2007  03:39 PM ET

No. Makes no sense at all. The Patriots are good but not that good.

October 10, 2007  03:48 PM ET

I don't think you can judge Dallas based on the Mnday night game any more than you can judge the Patriots based on thier game with Cleveland. Were it not for several bad mistakes made by Edwards, Cleveland had a shot in that game. Truth is, Dallas hasn't faced anyone like New England all season and New England hasn't faced anyone like Dallas all season. This will be a great game and a lot of scoring for both teams. Thanks for the comments! Hope you liked the videos.

I am a Patriot's fan. I see this game going either way. whover makes the most mistakes is going to lose this game i am just hoping it is not the Pats.
