Now that Trent Edwards has been named the new starter replacing J.P. Losman for the Bills, let's look to the future.
I'm no Bills fan, but based on a short portion of an interview on Monday Night Football, Edwards seems to be a good guy. He mentioned the fact that he was able to learn a lot from Bill Walsh while playing at Stanford.
Edwards has a 69.6 completion percentage, 507 passing yards, one TD, and 3 interceptions in the three games he has played in so far this season. Yes, his TD to INT ratio is dissapointing, but he's decent in pretty much every other category, especially for a 23 year old rookie that no one knew about (maybe it's just me)before the Monday Night Football crew mentioned him. Losman, in his fourth year, completed 63.8% of his passes for just 255 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the three games he's played in. Combine the modest attitude and solid play of Edwards and you get a quarterback who could grow into a great offensive leader for the Bills in the future. It may be to early too predict that, but it certainly isn't too early to talk about trading Losman.

You dont trade Losman. What if Edwards goes out with an injury in week 7 vs the Ravens? Losman is your insurance that you dont start taking Vinny Testeverde applications because you have ran out of QBs.

I think it's too ealr to trade him. One, he is injured so that hurts his value a bit. Two, the back up would now be the clipboard holder. I don't think he's the future, but it's a bit premature to cut the ties now.
