Here's a prediction for the Cowboys/Patriots game you probably haven't heard: lopsided victory.
Which team gets the win? I don't know for sure, but I'd put the odds at 65/35 New England.
Two top teams going at it in a game that has been hyped since both teams sprinted out of the gates. Heard that one before? You hear it every year, but nearly every game so hyped turns into a snoozer. Don't expect anything different this time around.
Both teams are undefeated, but it doesn't take an analyst weeks of film study to see that they're flawed, too. Romo is once again the darling of Dallas, but he needs another season or so to polish his gunslinger tactics - it won't work against the Patriots' defense. If his sophomore-like decision making doesn't get a lot better this week, he could be in for a long rest of the season.
New England has been near perfect in spite of their self-made distractions. Then again, they haven't exactly played top tier teams. The Jets, Chargers, Bengals, and Bills were all someone's preseason favorites to make the playoffs, but haven't come close to playing playoff caliber football. Who knows what the Patriots can do against a team with a top ranked offense and defense? New England has shown it can protect the ball, though, and that alone could win this game.
Yeah, this one is going to be a blow-out: it always happens in these hyped up games. My prediction of the final score is 33 - 14, and New England is almost a 2 - 1 favorite to come out on top.
