Man, did we need that. I don't know how a team that looked so bad last week could look so good this week.

Highlights: We moved the ball! 21 first downs to 15 for Illinois and 10 of 17 third down conversions. For a team that did nothing but punt last week, it was a beautiful thing to watch.

Jake Christensen had time to throw! Great job by the O line in both pass protection and run blocking. It's been a while since we've seen both. Albert and Damian had some huge holes to run through.

I have to hand it to Ken O'Keefe. I think he finally put Jake Christensen in a situation in which he could find success. We went for it on 4th down a couple times. Quick snapped the ball for short QB sneaks and first downs. Nice that we aren't so predictable. Good job coaching staff!

Lowlights? Not many but it did seem that we had some boneheaded penalties still. That's to be expected as young as we are.

You never know what next week will bring, but it sure was good to see us move the ball and be successful. That's all a Hawk fan can ask at this point.

Oh, on a humorous note. Did you see Ron Zook stiff arm the camera man at the end of the game? Nice move coach.

Next up, Purdue. Go Hawks!
