As the World Cup approaches, everyone (except America is seems) is pumped and ready for another wild run at the world's most prized possession, a chance at saying their country was the best soccer team in the world on a given night. Well, i'm not a huge soccer fan, but i look forward to experiencing soccer in its fullest for the first time. I suggest that you start your Saturday off by catching the England/Usa battle of similar cultures as the US looks to make a statement against a seemingly down and injured English team. 2:30 on ABC I was a huge fan of the Nebraska move to the Big-10. i always felt that Nebraska plays simliar style ball as the Big-10. (runs the ball and plays good defense) as opposed to the Big-12 where everyone thinks you must pass for 400 yards a game to be considered a solid team. I have them surprising the country by starting their first season (in 2011) in the conference and finishing 2nd in the conference (Ohio State, Nebraska, Penn State). On the other hand, this was a huge step and took alot of guts for the A.D. (athletic director) because this will cause the eventual crumble and fall of the Big-12 as we know it. The A.P. reports that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State all seem to be leaning towards joining the Pac-10. This will load a once lop-sided conference with talent and competition. Some say that the conference will be renamed the Pac-16 or something of the sort if all the teams can get in. Although, this loads the Pac-10, it leaves the smaller teams of the Big-12 left hanging. They are forced to look to small mid-level conferences and take a huge cut in money from sports and broadcasts. It's not fair, but most situations aren't. The University of Southern California has been hit hard with penalties regarding Reggie Bush and his possible ineligibility in the year of '04-'05. They BCS has taken away their national title of ???04. The NCAA has taken away 10 scholarships per year for the next 3 years totaling to be 30 scholarships taken away. The wins of December, '04 to '05 have been taken away. The Trojans now have a 2-year ban from bowl games. NCAA announced that Usc juniors and seniors are now allowed to transfer without the penalty of sitting out a year. All of these penalties may lead to the death of a once great dynasty.
