Before I get started, let me clearly point out that the better team won. There were a few critical mistakes made by Dallas that might have given them the opportunity to win this game with the word 'might' being the key. As I said in my analysis, the Cowboys would have to play a perfect game to have a chance and they clearly did not. The Patriots deserve all the credit for winning this game.

My personal analysis is this: The Cowboys will never beat a good team because they play no defense. The Cowboys only vics over decent teams are the Bears and the Giants, and neither of those teams are AFC offensive juggernaut-types, so no way can Dallas expect to win a championship this year unless the AFC doesnt show up in Arizona this February.

Well thought out blog again Gibby my friend.Sorry your boy's lost LOL.But remember it may not be a battle of the unbeaten's when the Colt's and Pat's play, that Jaguar's game is still looming for the Colt's next monday and they got beat in Jacksonville last year.I hope they both are though.

Cassidy's analysis sums it up nicely.

October 15, 2007  04:24 PM ET

I agree with Cassidy regarding a super bowl win but if you remove the Colts and Patriots from the equation, Dallas is still pllaying the best ball in the NFC right now and better than most of the other teams in the AFC. With the return of Anthony Henry and the addition of Tank Johnson, I think this team has the best shot a super bowl appearance of any of the NFC teams this year but a ways to go to compete with the top 2 from the AFC. It's still only week 6, so there is a lot of football left to be played.

The Steelers would make Romo look silly and would put up 38+ points against that D with Ben and Willie Parker leading the charge.

October 15, 2007  04:41 PM ET

Sorry Gib, based on the previous Monday night clown show thanks to the head clown, that being Romo and all his turnover antics, I believe that Buffalo believe it or not has the Pats number based on past match-ups between them minus the outcome. They just can never finish the job. Only difference in those years they play each other is that they would never win a super bowl. "see post Jim Kelly highlights"

Yeah, the Steeler Offense and Defense looked great against the Arizona Cardinals, the team that got toasted by Vinny Testaverde. Dallas at least got the W in Buffalo.

October 15, 2007  05:12 PM ET

Hey Gibby, if you watch football you know that you cant take away a teams best receiver(Hines Ward) for an entire game, and lose your nose tackle(Casey Hampton-our rock in the middle of 3-4 defense) and Troy Palamalu(all world safety) for the entire second half and perform as you would normally, especially on the road. The Seahawks are better than Zona and we b-slapped them to a shutout tune, so either you ignore our most recent performance or you are just a h@ter on Pittsburgh, but if you dont know the STEEL would face plant the boys head to head, you are lost, man, lost.

Has anyone realized that in two weeks, NE has to host the Skins...meaning, there is that SLIM chance we won't be talking about the Pats amongst the undefeated??
Notice, Cassidy, I said a SLIM chance...God, I love your picture!!! (Did I say that before??? Hey, I speak the truth. Where was I ??? Oh yeah..)
Anyway, nobody has to tell me Dallas sucks; we Redskins fans don't NEED to be redundant. (Someday I'll write a blog on that...)

October 15, 2007  05:40 PM ET

Cassidy: I love how in your comments an throw downs you always have to make excuses for the Steelers. I have said over and over again that they are a good team but there are no excuses in the NFL. Did you see me making any excuses for Dallas? They were without Anthony Henry, the league leader in interceptions, lost thier nose tackle weeks ago and are still without Terry Glenn. Even without Ward, the Steelers should have whipped the Cards but they got whipped. End of story, move on. Oh, and the Cards were without Boldin so had he played, so by your logic, I guess Arizona would have beaten you by even more points? It's OK to be a homer but jeez, come back to reality.

Dont let this bozo get to you, Cass; I gotta deal with a CANADIAN Dallas nut in this community. (Enough already with the AMERICAN ones, I got 'em north of the border. Christ, no wonder everyone hates Canada.)
And what's this Larry B muncher??? What boulder did YOU crawl out from under??
Don Quixote lives!!! WARPATH!!!!

October 15, 2007  05:51 PM ET

I'm not a Dallas nut, I'm just grounded in reality. A loss to Arizona is a loss to Arizona. Pittsburgh is a great team but they lost. Nuff said...

October 15, 2007  06:13 PM ET

OK, the Steelers lost. We all saw the game.
Notice how people who use "'Nuff said" in a sentence, have "nuff"thing to contribute.
Enough.
Said.
End of sentence.

October 15, 2007  06:36 PM ET

Ahh yes you amazing wordsmith you. Your "end of sentence" trumps my "nuff said." Wow. I am stunned and speechless. I said "nuff said" because there is nothing more to discuss. But yes, your "end of sentence" was sooo much better...
