If I hear one more person mention how good a Left Offensive Tackle is for keeping Umenyiora, because he's the NFL sack leader, off a QB I'm going to scream. If you discount the Eagles game where he got 6 sacks by beating the snot out of a terrible LT in Justice, who had no help and shouldn't have been out there alone. Take those away, and he has one, yes ONE sack this season. He's a good player, no doubt, but I've heard nothing but reverence for the guy in the past two weeks, whose totals are severely inflated by one great game by him, and a terrible game by the Eagles.

Sacks are overrated as a stat. If one guy breaks the line, and chases the QB until a teammate tackles him for a 1-yard loss, the teammate gets the sack, when the first guy is the one who broke up the play.
But it's not like Umenyiora isn't all that good - the guy's a beast.

I'm not saying Umenyiora isn't good, just that I was tired of hearing the phrase 'NFL sack leader' attached to his name by virtue of one game, really. That Giant's D-Line as a whole though is scary, and if the Eagles were any good I'd be scared to play them without a fully healthy O-Line, and even with one, still a bit nervous.
Generally speaking, calling anyone a league leader before the halfway point in the season seems a bit ridiculous anyway. But the Worldwide Leader wouldn't be the same if they didn't over-hype every little thing.
