This doesn't mean the Patriots aren't a very good team. They are. But going undefeated is a near impossible task. History is on my side. No team has ever gone 16-0. The Dolphins went 14-0 in a much different era.

The last time I checked, playing at Indy is no gimme. But you have to look at the big picture here. The media focus will be enormous once the team reaches 10-0 (if they get that far). After the Pats clinch, Coach Hoodie will have to decide whether to play his full starters during meaningless games. And there are always those freak games where poor teams play well. Like I said, the Pats are on a different level -- along with the Colts. But winning every game during the regular season isn't realistic.

The fact is, we've had amazing teams play in the NFL before -- I know, difficult concept for some myopic, history-challenged fans. But the (Elway-Davis) Broncos of the late 90s didn't go undefeated. The (Young-Rice) 49ers and the (Aikman/Smith/Ervin) Cowboys of the early 90s never did. The (Super Bowl Shufflin') Chicago Bears of 1985? Not them either. There are simply too many things that can happen during a 16-game season.

i agree there are to many factors for anyone to go undefeated. They are a great team with great players and coaches but 16-0 19-0 nope not going to happen
