I for one am torn on this one and may still go either way on this depending on the day.
After winning the Nationwide race at Daytona Jr got out of the car and was pretty adamant about never being in the 3 again. I saw videos of the fans holding up their hands with 3 fingers up every time Jr went to the front.
Is this a reminder that should be brought out once in a while just to give us a gentle reminder of the Man in Black?
It sure did look like it lit a fire under Jr's butt to do well in his Dad's number and is this what Jr needs to get his career back into the right Grove?
Is the one shot enough to keep Jr going and have him say yes I need this and want this?
Or does not Jr need that number as much as it may need him?
Do we as fans need to see that car out that and give us pause on a weekly basis? Do we need remembers when Sr drove that and Jr is either living up to his name or is not? I almost believe Jr got up on the wheel and pushed harder. Drove harder to get that win. Is it a bad thing? I do not think so because I for one would love to see a driver out there pushing in the Earnhardt name. I am not sure I need to see him week in week out doing great. Just mixing it up and seeing Jr in there and adding to the mix
He may not be Sr but he is a Earnhardt and he may not be any better than he is now in the 88 but the #3 .... I would love to see him at least grab that legacy and try.

That win last night was very emotional not only because of the #3, but also because Jr himself has not won in a long time....Last time he drove a 3 was in 2002 and he won then too......maybe the "8" (x 2) is no longer his lucky charm......and just maybe the 3 does something to him, to make him close the deal.....he did say he pushed harder because of it.
I love any reminders and things that honour Sr.....loved the crowd holding up 3 fingers. I am hoping that this will push Jr in the right direction in the cup series.
Much as miss Sr....I would not be happy to see Jr in a Black 3.....he has to earn that image and he has yet to do that......but would be great if that ever happened.

im gonna sound like the bad guy, but I would have bet everything I have that jr woulda won that race. I didnt even watch it, (bc I forgot about it) but I knew what the outcome was gonna be. All the hype leading up to it, nascar wanted that to happen. for sure..

I not sure if anyone pulled over for Jr but did some push him a little more than they might have because it was a special race for the 3?
I am sure if anyone wrecked him there would have been a mob ready to take that driver out.
So he would have had a build in buffer around him.
I just hope it is the opposite and that driving the 3 pushed Jr to a level he has not been driving at for a while
