Fannation, I need your perspective ASAP, before I blow a gasket!!!!   Ok, so u know I'm a modern womanist, and I don't deal well with sexual stereotypes...I mean really, who does...geesh!

Anyway, during a class break, I was discussing my Pro-bowl plans with several of my friends.  As you know, the Pro Bowl is Feb. 10, 2008 and I graduate from law school May 2008...so I  was planning this as a four day, mini graduation vacay, ANDit will be fasinating to have a Pro Bowl blog report (by the way, I have another NFL blog on word press now!)  Anyway, sevearal of my male classmates over heard the discussion and immediately accused me of being an NFL groupie...in their jaded and sexist opinons, the Pro Bowl isn't considered a valid sporting exhibition thus, if I really wanted to watch a game Ishould go to a regular season game.  In response to their denigrating groupie accusations, I reminded them that this is a one time oportunity to ship on pina coladas while chillixin on the beach in an ultra cutie kini, AND during the day to see my favorite players from around the league.

TO MY SHOCK AND HORROR, one of my classmates jumps up and says, "see G-R-O-U-P-I-E" supposedly its not appropriate to say "see my favorite players" I guess it denotes some form of inappropriate admiration for athletes.  Well, excuse the doodoo out of me, but when did this become abnormal, isn't that what sports in general is about...watching your favorite athlete/team battle it out on the gridiron?  Why am I a groupie because I want a Cards and 49ners autograph?  Everytime I bump into an athlete, I am literally afraid to approach them for an autograph...it always goes somewhere else, and there is this underlying assumption that I want something inappropriate...maybe I should carry small chidlren with me, humm?

Essentially fannation...what do you think about a woman going to the pro-bowl...how will my trip be percieved?  Furthermore, is it wrong to ask for a player's autograph?  Admittedly, as a hetrosexual female I do find some players attractive, just like I find some lawyers, some professors, some accounts, and some mechanics attractive, so does that mean I cannot apprecaite their services and talents?  Just because I am a woman with eyesight shouldn't mean that I cannot go to the Pro Bowl.  I mean really, who said I wanted to screw an athlete...as I said in a previous blog, I don't like athlets cause I don't like ****!  GEE WIZ!  Travis Henry...SIT DOWN!

Just the fact that we are women makes it wrong in some guys eyes. I mean, How DARE we like football or god forbid actually know more about the game than they do, so obviously we must be groupies. *Rolls eyes* This isnt ever gonna change so just hold your head up and give them a disdainful look. In the meantime collect those autographs and dont forget to show them off in class!
