Dear Mr. Lebron James- -Kobe Bryant -Michael Jordan -John Havlicek -Julius Erving -Magic Johnson -Larry Bird -Hakeem Olajuwon -Isiah Thomas -Jerry West -George Mikan -Kevin McHale -Kareem Abdul-Jabbar -Scottie Pippen -Bill Russell -James Worthy -Paul Arizin -Rick Barry -Bob Cousy -Dave Cowens -Billy Cunningham -Walt Frazier -Sam Jones -Willis Reed -David Robinson -Hal Greer -Dolph Schayes -Wes Unseld -Bill Walton What does every player on this list of 28 of the NBA's greatest basketball players of all time have in common? Not only were 27 of the 28 (minus Kobe Bryant) named to the NBA's 50 greatest players, but all 28 won a championship with the team that "drafted" them (Kobe was traded on draft day). Personally, if I played in the NBA I would want to be among the names on this list. Many of these players won championships with no supporting cast, and some were lucky enough to have a great supporting cast. Regardless, every single man on this list had to make do with what he had. Lebron James, do not make the mistake that could put an asterisk next to your name in the minds of the fans as the "player who couldn't win it on his own". Stay with Cleveland. Your friends live there, your family lives there, you grew up there, and even went to school there. Why leave? You are worshipped as a god and are the greatest thing that has ever happened to the city of Cleveland. If you are, truly, the best player in the NBA, shouldn't other players be flocking to you? You should not have to leave the city you love in order to win. That is not what the great players do. Let us say for a minute that you leave Cleveland, and team up with Amare in New York and win a championship. Sure you will finally have the hardware, but will it taste as sweet as if you won it in Cleveland? I certainly do not believe so. Return to Cleveland, not for the $30 more million dollars that you can make, but for the sweet taste of winning a championship for the city that you love. Sincerely, A Dedicated Fan
