You know being born and bred in Nebraska I am a die hard Husker fan and over the years I find myself missing the tradition. I can remember Thanksgiving Day when the game wasn't Dallas beating up on someone or Detroit laying a stinker. It was the Neb. vs Ok who can forget "The game of the century" the real gas is the better game was the next year when Ok came back in the last 45 sec and beat us by 2 pts. At the forming of the Big 12 I could see the writing on the wall, everybody saw $$$ and forgot what tradition was. Now that Neb has made they jump I have mixed feelings will miss the Rivalry of the OU NEB game thank you Sooners for some of the greatest games in history. But what I won't miss is kissing Tx ass and for all you that stay in the confrence that pays the Longhorns more money to play them, good luck. You see it was Tx who scrambled to the big 8 yet they were the ones who called the shots. This reminds me of somethin, oh ya they called the shots in the old SWC. You remember the confrence that went broke, oh ya and a several schools put on probation one even had the death penalty. All I can say is thanks Tom for getting us off this ride.

As a person who played with and against Johnny Rogers in little and highscholl football, I miss the traditional rivalries with Ok and Col. But you're absolutely right. Nebraska had to break the grip that texas had on its(neb) ablity to get its fair share of money. Sooner or later some of the other big 12 schools will see their way out of the conference. Here's to the start and enjoyment of some great new rivalries and traditions. Nebraska can't do anything but upgrade the level of play across the big 12 conference
