And the games go on!!!  After a bust of a regular season, J.D. Drew finally earned some of his $70 million and endeared himself with Red Sox fans as he came up with a HUUUUUGE grand slam in the first inning that set the pace for the Sox in their 12 -2 win that evened up the ALCS at three apiece.

The game started with some positive karma when Grady (that's Sizemore, not Little) hit a monster shot just to the right of Pesky's Pole.  In the bottom half of the first, after the Sox loaded the bases with no outs, the worst possible scenario happened when Manny struck out and Mike Lowell hit a short fly to old favorite Trot Nixon.  But then Drew came up and drilled his laser to the bleacher creatures in center, giving the Sox an insurmountable 4 run lead.

At that point, you just knew big-game star Curt Schilling had a lead he wasn't about to relinquish.  Big Schill came up huge once again, and if the Sox lose tomorrow, here's a tip of the cap to you Curt.  I may not agree with your politics, but as a pitcher, you're top notch.  If you're somewhere else next year, I wish you the best of luck.

Baseball is a funny game though, and 12 runs one night can quickly become none the next.  At more than one point during the game, I said I hope they save some runs for tomorrow.  Ah, tomorrow.  The sun WILL come out tomorrow, but will the ace from the Land of the Rising Sun come up big?  The Dice Man's had an up and down season, but just like October of 2004 when Big Schill came up big, right now, in the heart of foliage season, is what the Sox really paid $103 million for.  It's time to really earn your keep Daisuke and earn your place in Red Sox lore.

So here we are: A Game 7 at Fenway for the right to go to the 2007 World Series.  Unlike Game 7 in 2004 when I was fortunate enough to watch the Sox destroy the Yankees in Yankee Stadium in person (and conveniently got my foot stepped on by a high-heeled monster wearing stilettos; yeah I'm SURE it was an honest mistake) I will be watching this one at home.

Does it really get any better than this?  Yeah, a win tomorrow and it really does get even better.  Go Sox.

I'm out.

Beckett will be too little, too late. Dice-K will be diced with more runs than K's. When you need JD Drew to spark your rallies, you know it's not too far from trouble. I see a lot of stranded runners for the Sox tonight. Now, if only Hafner could remember what a baseball looks like, and if Victor would stop showing his beef with Manny by acting like Manny, then I would be more confident in what I've said here. Go Tribe!
