Probably not. But they could make things very interesting. The Browns are 3-3, and have the 3rd best scoring offense in the league. Derek Anderson is playing like he's a Pro Bowler, Braylon Edwards is finally paying off, and Jason Wright is stepping in very nicely. Plus, the Browns wheathered the storm, making it to the bye week with a .500 record when most people thought they'd be 1-5 or 2-4. Actually, they are a game out of first, and are a bogus timeout against Oakland away from being 4-2. Cleveland has a soft part of the schedule coming up, with the hapless Rams next, then the Seahawks, and very winnable games vs. the Texans, Cardinals, Jets, Bengals, Bills, and 49ers. I figure the Browns can go 7-3 over the last 10 games, then they should be in place to challenge for a wild-card. The playoff teams should be the Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Chargers, Browns, and Jaguars. Now do expect the Browns to win a game in the post season? Hell, no! I ain't crazy, now. (But the very nature of this blog may make me seem that way.) But at least, the Browns will be competitive, finish at or above .500, and have a couple Pro Bowlers, something the Browns couldn't say since 2003. But I'm expecting the worst. Remember, I live in Ohio. We don't have much success once we don't suck anymore.
