Those moments are some big ones in Redskins history and thus far mostly from 1983. Anyway on to this weeks three choices (descriptions from http://www.redskins.com/):
Moment 1: 1981-Joe Gibbs is hired to coach the Redskins
Jack Kent Cooke looks to the west coast to find the successor to Jack Pardee. Cooke hires San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Joe Gibbs on Jan. 13 to become the 20th head coach in franchise history. The choice proved to be a wise one, as Gibbs guided the Redskins to three Super Bowl titles in the next 12 years.
Moment 2: 1983-John Riggins breaks TD rushing record
Amid his best season ever, John Riggins sets a NFL record by scoring a touchdown in his 12th consecutive game during a 42-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Riggins' streak would end at 13 consecutive games. Riggins finished the season with 24 touchdowns and a career-best 1,347 rushing yards.
Moment 3: 1988-Darrell Green's punt return beats Bears
The Redskins traveled to Soldier Field to play the Chicago Bears in an NFC divisional playoff game. Trailing 14-0 in the second quarter, the Redskins rallied. Darrell Green provides the spark with an electrifying 52-yard punt return for a touchdown--injuring his ribs as he leapt over a Bears defender. The Redskins won 21-17 to advance to NFC Championship game for fourth time in six years.
