Strangest "Sports" News of the Day | The Eclectic Walrus

This has got to be the hands down winner. Most of those who follow sports have ssen the headlines by now that Jimmy Johnson, yes, THE Jimmy Johnson with NCAA & NFL rings, is going to be on the next "Survivor." I'm still not sure I believe it; it could just be a mega publicity stunt.

I just can't see Johnson, he of the perfect hair, as being the bug-eating type. Plus, he couldn't take his fishing boat with him. It just doesn't make any sense. One thing's for sure - if the story is real, there are going to be lots more viewers of the next series.

As I write this, I also wonder how "real" the show will be. We hear more & more complaints that a lot of the reality shows are rigged. I you did have a giant coup & land Johnson on your show, would you want him going home too soon? If it were a call in vote, I don't see Johnson being voted off, but it's not, & we all know he can be pretty abrasive. Wonder how that will sit with his fellow contestants?

Of course, I also can't wait to see the FOX pre-game show. It was alwats the best, but the ribbing this year will go to new heights. As if there weren't already enough to look forward to with the football season finally being here!

Jjimmy is going to get torn up. Nicaragua seems like a rough place! Apparently it's one of his favorite shows, so I kinda hope he hangs in there with a good strategy and makes it interesting.

I wonder about how "real" reality shows are also. But I think of all the shows out there, Survivor is the real deal. I just can't see people putting themselves through all that pain and suffering just to boost a network's ratings.

Looking forward to the pre-game show too - should be great humor!
