Alright. We're gonna rate the NFL's cheerleaders by team. Who's the hottest? Let me know in the comments section.. You can rate as many as you want. You can list your top 5, or your top 30, whatever you care to do. I'll compile the results and include them in next week's blog. Try to be as objective as you can. For instance, although the Raiders are my favorite team, the Raiderettes, honestly, leave a little something to be desired. No need to list their nicknames either. Like, what are the Chargers cheerleaders, Chargerettes? Don't worry. Just give me the team name, I'll figure it out. As an example, my personal list would be something like:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles
  2. San Diego Chargers
  3. Atlanta Falcons
  4. Dallas Cowboys
  5. Arizona Cardinals

Get the idea?

The idea actually came to me reading SI's photo story on top 10 cities in a sports slump. See it here- http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0710/cities.sports.slump/content.1.html

One of the most flawed lists they have ever come up with in my opinion. First of all, there are some glaring omissions. Secondly, some on the list are cities most definitely not in sports slumps. However, I can't argue with Philadelphia being #1. No wonder Philly fans throw snowballs at Santa. Their cheerleaders on the other hand, are quite simply in my opinion the Hottest in the NFL, therefore although they can be disappointed in their sports franchises, they at least have something to look at while losing.

Lets start then at the bottom of the list and work up. At #10 they list Cincinnati. Now true, Cincy has had several years of no championships. However, I distinctly remember the Reds beating the A's in the World Series, and Oakland isn't on this list. Also, Cincy doesn't even have a NBA or NHL team, so they really shouldn't have been put on this list.

At #9 is Seattle. Hard to argue with this one. BUT, the Seattle Storm captured the 2004 WNBA championship. Hmmmm. Now here's a dilemma. I assume the writer of the SI story then does not consider women's basketball a sport. There it is, by the authority of none other than Sports Illustrated, the WNBA does not count as a sports league. Rather chauvinistic, isn't it?

Then theres the one that really bugs me the most, Los Angeles at #8. Ahem, I believe the Lakers 3 championships as recently as 2000-2002. That completely should throw them off this list. Now, when they will have their next one, I don't know, could be awhile, although theres always the Dodgers. But a slump? A NBA championship 5 years ago ain't too shabby, take it from a Warriors fan. LA should not at all be on this list.

#7 is Washington DC. Now I really can't make an argument against that one at all. Yeah, you fans are about just as bad off as Philly. However, you're not very far from Baltimore, and the Ravens won a championship not too far back. Otherwise, yes, you belong on this list.

I have another huge problem with #6. New York? Um, the Yankees? Who in the world feels like the Yankees are slumping. No no no no. They don't get to be on this list, just because of the Yankees alone. Its been awhile since the last World Series win, true. But being in contention like that every year should eliminate you from this list.

Now the tricky question of #5, Minneapolis-St Paul. Its been 16 years since the Twins won the World Series last. The Vikes are still 0-3 in Super Bowls, and haven't even been to one in like 30 years. So their a shoe-in for this list, right? The dilemma? The North Stars/ Dallas Stars Stanley Cup win in 1999. This was a few years after they left, true, but still a year before the Wild made their debut. So probably a lot of North Star fans felt that the Stars were still their team when they won the Cup, just maybe they weren't playing a lot of Home games that year, right? I mean, Dallas and Hockey? C'mon. So Minny might have a claim to this list, but even taking the Twins last championship, it was still more recent than Oaklands.

Cleveland at #4 I really can't argue with either. The Browns stink. The Cavs made the finals, but did anybody really think they had a shot against the Spurs? The Indians almost did something this year, now just look forward to next year. So Cleveland legitimately belongs on this list.

At #3 they have Buffalo. Buffalo does not have a NBA team. They used to, they were called the Braves. Remember them? Well, they moved West. First to San Diego, then to Los Angeles. We are talking about the Clippers. Buffalo, do you know how big a bullet you dodged there? If the Clippers had never moved, you might lay claim to #1 on this list. So be thankful for your #3 ranking and keep looking at the Bills cheerleaders, who by the way, are pretty Hot looking also.

At #2 is Atlanta. While they haven't had many championships, the baseball Braves were so dominant, for so long, Atlanta should be a few notches down here. And, they Did win 1 Championship about 10 years ago. That's not too bad, you know. So Atlanta is a little too high on this list. The Falcons, Thrashers and Hawks should keep you on this list for a few more years, though. Until the Braves can reload enough to reclaim their place.

And so the list finishes with Philly. Refer to paragraph 2. Lots of problems with this list I have. Oakland for one that is close to my heart. How about San Diego? Just because they don't have NHL shouldn't preclude anybody from this list. Thinking of that, why doesn't Seattle have a NHL team? Just curious. You would think that far north they would have one.

I've been busy this week, which explains my absence for most of the week from Fannation. Another side effect of working is that I didn't drink much beer this week, which means I didn't really think of much to say about beer for the blog. Hopefully, readers will forgive me. Readership will go down, no doubt, without saying something regarding beer.

So, since I didn't have much time, this link is the most I can find for the IFB link of the week. Hope you enjoy.  http://home.freeuk.net/pupaspringeye/ And for Thugmeisters personal collection of the week is here http://picasaweb.google.com/ThugMeisterG/ThugmeisterSFindingsOct26
