In one corner we have Champ Bailey and Dre Bly, the best two zone corners in the game, on the same team, playing a lot of zone coverage of course. Regarded as the best two corners in the game by Denver fans, loud, up and coming sportswriters, and the outspoken fans they pick quarter backs off with reckless abondon on a defense that could be great if they could stop the run.

In the other corner we have Charles Woodson and Al Harris, the best two man to man corners in the game, on the same team, playing a lot of man press of course. Regarded as the best two corners in the game by Green Bay Fans, old, respected sportswriters, and bloggers they shut down the Best recievers in the game like they aren't even running routes on a defense that could be great if they could stop tight ends.

Yet noone is talking about how the best four corners in the game are not only paired up with the perfect counterparts in the perfect defensive scheme, but they are playing each other. It's the ultimate matchup, up there with #1 offense versus #1 defense, up there with packers passing versus the bears running(or cowboys passing vs redskins running), up there with the simplicity and execution of Lombardi vs the complexity and unpridictibilty of  Billichek(we unfortunately didn't get to see this but Landry was the Bellichek of his time and the 'boys and Pack squaredoff for NFL championships twice before the first two superbowls including the greatest game ever- the ice bowl), its the ultimate matchup of old school, physical, man coverage vs. new school, turnover potent, zone coverage and yet noone is talking about it.

Well I'm talking about it, this is the best cornerback matchup that I can remember and Monday night, as bad as thier pressbox is, ESPN picked the ubergame for this one, not the overhyped battle for the best record in the AFC(Michigan vs. Ohio State anyone?[p.s. AFC fans they both lost thier bowl games]) or the underhyped battle for the best record in the NFC(there I go on Packers-Cowboys again, most superbowls vs. most NFL championships anyone?[or America's team vs. Titletown, whatever you want to call it]) this is the best game that true football fans could think of this year. Don't believe me? Just tune in Monday and watch the corners, just the corners. It'll be fun.
