I just finished watching the best Husker game of the year!
The Huskers came into the game with nothing to lose (Besides a trip to a Bowl), 21 point underdogs and almost came away with a "W". The used to be "Blackshirts" showed up to play and blitzed, sacked, and actually tackled the way it should be done. McCoy was hit more today than he has in any other single game this year, at least it looked like it to me. He was hurried, hit, sacked, and put on his back more than any QB we have faced this year. The only downside was the 4th quarter when Texas was able to run on them at will.
The offense found rhythm early in the game and kept it up through the game, with the exception of the 3rd quarter. Lucky ran really well for a change, and the O-line did an outstanding job of protection. How about Nate Swift?! That guy was open ALL OF THE TIME! Keller did a good job of keeping the offense moving, again with the exception of the 3rd quarter, putting up another near 300 yard game before getting hurt with less than 2 minutes in the game. Ganz finally got a chance to show his stuff, throwing 3 passes, 1 incomplete, 1 TD, and a 2pt conversion. Nice to see him get some playing time.
I was very proud to be a Husker Fan today. We performed the way we should have been all season long and came so VERY close to sticking it to the 'Horns.
