"Should I trade Kevin Jones and Derick Mason for Frank Gore and Patrick Clayton! Please help!!
Also what WR should I play for week 8 ( I need 3 to play)
Galloway, Hillard, Randle El, Lee Evans, "
This is a very strange trade. I say no. Its a VERY rough no and the trade wouldnt hurt you big time. I see it as a downgrade at both RB and WR. Now, you may say Gore is great and this and that, but the fact of the matter is they have most likely the worst passing game of all time! The 49ers only have 125 passing yards a game by FAR the worst in the league. If you remember, a chunck of his fantasy points last year came from receiving yards and his team just cant throw the ball. Gore has never been a touchdown back and if his team cant pass the ball, then they cant run the ball (ranked 28th in the NFL!). They can puyt 8 and mabey even 9! in the box. Patrick Crayton is good, but I am far from sold on him. When Glenn comes back, you can count on him losing considerable playing time and it just isn't worth getting rid of a #1 WR.
On the other side of the trade, I really like kevin jones potential this year. He is a great receiving back and he is a touch down back. I would hold onto him for now at least. Mason isn't very ggood, but at least he is the #1 WR on his team and the 2nd option after Heap. Crayton is the #2 WR, and will move to 3 when Glenn returns and he is the 3rd passing option (4th when Glenn returns) after TO, Witten, and Glenn.
As for the start/sit, I would automatically put in Joey Galloway with Jeff Garcia at QB. Even though they are going up against a tough secondary, Galloway is an extremly talented player and will get the job done. This leaves Randle El, Lee Evans, and Ike Hilliard. I would put El in because they are playing the Pats and when they go down a quick 3 scores they will abandon the run and go straight to the pass. My last choice has to be Lee Evans. He has big game potential and Hilliard has yet to prove himself on a consistent basis. Evans is going up against the Jets!
In summary, dont trade and start Galloway, Evans, and Randle El.
