EA Sports makes the best sports video games out there... you can't argue that, you just can't. However, they really screwed up this time, with the release of Rugby 08 only on the PS2. Rugby is one of the most up and coming sports in the USA, one of the best ways to grow the game and to expose people that don't know much about rugby is to put out a good video game.
By putting out Rugby 08 only on PS2 they have shot themselves in the foot, the rugby market is one that is yet to be tapped in the USA and you can't tap that market by putting out a video game on a dead system. I saw that the game was going to be coming out and that it would only be out on PS2 and realized I couldn't even tell you the last time I played a PS2 (in retrospect it was about 4 years ago). I did an impromptu poll of my friends and found that nine out of nine of my friends (males age 23 to 27) didn't know that they still made PS2s and thought it was dumb that they did (XBOX is so much better in so many ways it isn't even funny).
I know I'm a little rambling and not making great arguments, but I am fusterated as a rugby fan in the United States who cannot play a video game I have been waiting 2 years to play. (The last game they put out was 06 and came out in 2005). It was a dumb and unfortunate mistake for EA sports to only put Rugby 08 on PS2.
