Let me start by saying I hate the Patriots. Can't stand them. But I did watch them yesterday. And jeez, how friggin' good is Mike Vrabel? I'll save the superlatives that people attach to Moss and Brady for people who like to fawn over the Pats, but Vrabel? Damn. The guy has caught 10 Passes in his career. Every one a touchdown. As a linebacker! Not to mention his defensive stats, but just watching him out there yesterday - I wouldn't want to block him. He had something like a dozen tackles and 3 sacks. And everything I've read today is talking about how good his 3 sacks were. Let me tell you what's better - those three sacks were also forced fumbles, and all three were recovered by the Pats. The guy is just a veteran monster.

The Eagles didn't look too bad against Minnesota, compared to the rest of their season so far, I guess. Did anyone else see Adrian Peterson field that kickoff out of bounds at the 1? I chuckled a little. That was either a touchback or an illegal procedure call if he let it go. Rookie mistake. Good job by the officiating crew in explaining to him something he probably should have already known though.

Finally - with all the hooplah about Comcast putting the NFL Network on a pay-tier, I just thought I'd mention, that I get it for free with Verizon's FiOS TV. I'm not trying to advertise for them or anything, but after Comcast's initial triple play offer, their cost goes up to about the same as FiOS's version, and I don't see any of the gross pixellation that I saw a lot with Comcast. (Not to mention that the standard FiOS internet is 20Mbps, compared to cables fastest 16Mbps - I think for a ridiculous price you can even upgrade to 50Mbps or something completely unnecessary). I'm glad it was available at the new house. Now if only I could get them to shut off that stupid voicemail they gave me so I can use my friggin' answering machine ... but I got bored sitting on hold for an hour.

Yeah Tracy, i wanted one in the bathroom, above the stove and on the front of the fridge but was laughed at by the wife.I thought it was a good idea, what gives ?

I dunno. I couldn't get DirecTV to tell me how much they were charging after their introductory offer. But since it was something like 65/mo for 4 months, I figured it was quite a bit. There's also the added convenience of having phone and internet on the same bill, but perhaps Sunday Ticket in a couple years. I like the idea of watching whatever game I want after the Eagles, but with a new house, new car, and student loan payments, I think its probably a better idea to wait on Sunday Ticket.
At any rate, I can still put a TV out next to the fireplace. Nothing like Football, Fire, and ... well Drinks, but that doesn't start with F.

Mike Vrabel is God. Glad to see another convert who has accepted this universal truth.
