Here is this week's football players of the week from the SEC website. 

 

SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


KNOWSHON MORENO
Tailback
GEORGIA

Moreno rushed for a career-high 188 yards on 33 carries and three touchdowns in Georgia's 42-30 win against Florida.

He also caught two passes for 17 yards, which brought his all-purpose yardage total to 205 yards for the game. Moreno's 35 touches in the game accounted for 56 percent of Georgia's offensive plays. His 42-yard run on the first drive of the third quarter set up another Georgia touchdown. His rushing total is the third highest in the SEC this season.

 

SEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


AVERY HANNIBAL
Defensive End
MISSISSIPPI STATE

Hannibal had five tackles, including a game-best three for losses (-8 yards), two of which were quarterback sacks in Mississippi State's 31-14 win at Kentucky.

Both of his sacks came in the second half as State protected a first-half lead. The first came on a 3rd-and-12 play early in the third quarter and the second came on a 1st-and-10 on UK's next possession.

Mississippi State's defense limited Kentucky, which came into the SEC as the league's total offensive leader (466.5 yards per game) , to 319 total yards, including 89 on the ground.

Hannibal now has 28 tackles this season, with six for losses, including two sacks.

 

SEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lincoln capped Tennessee's late-game heroics with two field goals as the Vols defeated South Carolina, 27-24, in overtime.

Lincoln booted a career-long 48-yarder with five seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into the extra period.

His 27-yarder in overtime proved to be the game-winner for the Vols.

Lincoln leads the SEC in field goals per game (1.88) and in field goal percentage (88.2) this season. He is 15of-17 in field goals and has hit all 29 of his PAT tries.

 

SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
WESLEY CARROLL
Quarterback
MISSISSIPPI STATE 
 

 

Carroll completed 17-of-28 passes for 152 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Mississippi State's 31-14 win at Kentucky.

Carroll completed eight of his first nine passes for the game.

He directed the Bulldogs to scoring drives on their first two possessions (14 plays, 80 yards, 5:52 and 17 plays, 80 yards, 6:41).

Carroll has thrown 137 passes this season without an interception.

 

OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES FROM WEEK 9

TB DARREN McFADDEN (Arkansas) -- Rushed for 61 yards on 19 carries, caught three passes for 22 yards, and had a career-high four rushing TDs against Florida International.

WR ROD SMITH (Auburn) -- Smith caught eight passes for a career-high 111 yards and a touchdown against Ole Miss.

WR PERCY HARVIN (Florida) -- Rushed for 97 yards on 10 carries and also caught two passes for 41 yards against Georgia.

LB DANNELL ELLERBE (Georgia) -- Had seven tackles (team-high) with a tackle for loss, fumble recovery and half-sack, against Florida.

TE JACOB TAMME (Kentucky) -- Caught a team-high six passes for 46 yards against Mississippi State.

LB TONY FEIN (Ole Miss) -- Logged a team-high 16 total tackles (10 solos), including two for losses (-3 yards) against Auburn.

RB CHRISTIAN DUCRE' (Mississippi State) -- Rushed for a career-high 119 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown against Kentucky.

WR KENNY McKINLEY (South Carolina) -- Tied a school record with 14 receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee.

DB ERIC BERRY (Tennessee) -- Led the Vols with 12 tackles and had a fumble recovery and interception against South Carolina.

LB JONATHAN GOFF (Vanderbilt) -- Logged 11 total tackles (5 solos), with two tackles for losses (including a -5 sack) against Miami, Ohio.
