With another World Series in the books,the focus now during the off-season is where will some of the game's notable stars play in 2008.Leading this list,of course,is none other than Alex Rodriguez.A-Rod opted out of his contract with the Bronx Bombers to go to greener pastures.No doubt,money was an issue...but I feel the way the Yanks front office handled(more like bungled)the Joe Torre situation was more of a deciding factor.If the stories over the past few days about Torre taking the Dodgers managerial position bear fruit,don't be all that surprised to see A-Rod wearing Dodger blue next season.It would not be too far-fetched to see some ex-Yanks in Los Angeles as well...Rivera,Posada,Pettitte....again,it all depends on whether Torre becomes the Dodgers skipper.The Cubs and Angels are other possible teams for A-Rod.Barry Bonds? I think it is a given that he will play in the American League next season...the Angels,Yankees and Mariners are possibilities...Bonds feels he has one more good season left in him and wants to play for a contender.Both Torii Hunter and Andruw Jones will no doubt spark some interest and command some big bucks as well.Both no doubt want to hook up with contenders that will be willing to reward them handsomely.Again,teams like the Angels,Cubs,Dodgers,Mariners and Yankees will want to make a big splash.Mike Lowell...methinks he will stay in Boston,they have as good a chance to win back-to-back,right? Time will tell how all this pans out.
