If anyone still checks in here from time to time and wants to talk some football, NFC East football.....lets hear it.

It's a sure bet youll get some feedback, of other Beast fans....its football time!

How is your team? Are they ready to make a run? Are they rebuilding? Who has the best shot out of the division to make the playoffs and beyond? Any thoughts about other teams?

In other news....

I thought the Saints looked impressive offensively, when they chose to go pass heavy...they were successful. When they chose to go run heavy....they were successful. Very balanced, and the D made the adjustment to cover Shanicoe with Harper and it paid off. The Vikings were running well with Peterson...and while the game was still in hand, they chose to call on Favre who could not get into a rythm. Peterson looked great, and I would have kept pounding the rock with him. Oh well, 1st game of 2010 is in the books.

I look forward to the new Kevin Kolb era on Sunday, as well as following McNabbs transition with his new team. Good luck to all your teams.

Hope we get this room busy again.

Here's to a good season with few injuries for any teams. Pray for a resolution to the labor agreement!

Phillyfan4;
offer your opinion on Vick or Kolb? Who you favor? Do you feel that Kolb can get it done given a chance? Want a year of Vick then if he improves trade value get rid of him for draftpicks? Remember Vick is about a 55% completion, 75 passer rating etc.....

I sent e-invites or a letter to ALL the members trying to drum up visits here. Please try and do the same.

Hey +40,
to answer some of your questions....lets start with your 1st.
I favor Kolb. Reason being he was drafted in 07 to eventually succeed McNabb and up to this point has said and done all the right things. Last Easter Kolb was told he was the starter of the Philadelphia Eagles after Reid had traded McNabb to Washington. He had gained the trust and respect of his teammates as well as the coaching staff, to be rewarded with the job.
2nd, we all knew there would be some growing pains along the way. I don't think it would be rational to think otherwise. Kolb would have to grow with playing time, and the coaches and players would would have to be patient with his maturation. There are quite a few QB's who have been thrown to the wolves....started as rookies, and didn't play well. In time some of those QB's turned out to be great. Troy Aikmen's 1st season as the starting QB for the Cowboys was not poetry in motion, they went 1-15. Now he is in the hall of fame, and has 3 SB rings. Peyton Manning also struggled his 1st year, now he is top shelf, has been for awhile now.
There are a few teams right now who could use QB's, so I think Vick's trade value is already rising....he appears to be back to his old self (maybe better in some circles). Even if he were to be benched in favor of Kolb, which isn't likely at this point....after a 1/2 in GB, then what he did against the Lions, the Eagles telephone line would be red hot with trade offers.

I understand the big picture +40, this game is a game of what have you done for me lately.
It's ultimately about wins and losses, and pursuing the prize....at all costs. I personally am not happy about how Kolb was named the starter, got injured, then lost his starting job because the coaches/players/owner/fans etc. want to ride the hot hand. I was prepared to support Kolb through the good, bad, and ugly knowing only through repetition in reg. season games will he eventually show his true colors. Is he the franchise QB? Could he have bounced back from a shaky start in week 1 to lead HIS team to the Playoffs and beyond?
Wish he had more than 2 quarters and a concussion before Reid pulled him. Again I understand it is a team sport, and Reid and the coaches want to ride the hot hand and win games. I'm sure some of the players are pulling for Vick to be the starter too....but seems like a raw deal for Kolb.
