Hi, and thanks for clicking on the blog.  I'm a huge Kentucky Wildcat fan, from the time I was a little boy in Columbus Ohio, to the time I was a crushed teenager when Duke (I'm not typing his name, I refuse to) beat us in the greatest game ever played, to the departure of Tubby Smith.  I may have been born a buckeye, but I bleed blue, and always will.  The exhibition season is about to start with a game against Pikeville College, who will more than likely get pounded, but get a ton of expirence for their league season.  Saturdays game is a tribute of sorts, as it is the 50th anniversary of the NCAA title game played between Seattle and UK in Louisville, in 1958 (part of the 57-58 season.)

Regardless, I am, like so many other Wildcat fans, excited about this years team.  We scored a major recruiting coup when Patrick signed with the team, and the relentless work ethic of Coach G is going to be a boon to the team.  We may be reloading this year, but I would not be surprised to see Coach G take this team deep in the NCAA.

Lets take a look at the roster for this season

We have two seniors, in Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford, both of them should show plenty of leadership on the floor.

This is also a very young squad with 14 (!!!) underclassmen on the team.  Who else can step up and be a leader on the floor besides Crawford and Bradley?

With a team this young leadership is going to be a needed thing. I would also be troubled by the youthfulness of the squad and the amount of mistakes that could happen as the team learns the system of the Talented Mr. G.

I'm going to watch the game tonight, than come back with my thoughts about the squad.  Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the coming season!

GO BIG BLUE!
