It's Football Night in America, with Michaels and Madden. Eagles vs Cowboys, The richkid Romo vs the veteran McNabb. The Cowboys are coming off the bye week, rested and ready to play. The Eagles are coming off an impressive offensive game against a stiff defensive test in the Vikings. This game is going to be your regular NFC East slugfest, between two teams that clearly dislike/hate each other.
Offensively the Eagles need to continue where they left off last week. They were better in the redzone finally, but still have some room for improvement if they hope to stay close in this one. This one promisies to be high scoring and if the Eagles sputter in the redzone, they'll be a half lap behind in this track meet. Westbrook will have an average game running, but should have a few catches for big yards. The McNabb to Brown connection needs to continue, and should as Brown makes 7 grabs for 95 yds and a TD. Curtis should be able to test the slower Cowboys DBs, and as long as McNabb has time to be accurate, he should be successful going deep. Look for Curtis to have 4 catches and 130 yards with 2 scores.
On defense the Eagles need to get alot of pressure on Romo, and knock some of that cash out of his pockets. Hopefully Dawkins is back so that he can control the middle of the field, sneak in on the blitz and lead the defense. The Dallas offense can be explosive and the key could be shutting down Jason Witten. The skills of Owens opens up the middle of the field, and could allow Witten to have a big game, and extend drives. If the linebackers can contain Witten and still pay attention to the running game they could slow the Cowboys down.
This game will be close, as it always is between these two rivals. There will a few lead changes and lots of highs and lows. The Eagles need to be great and unfortunately I think they will only be very good. The difference is going to be the redzone production.
