I knew that I wasn't in game shape, and at only 185, I need to put on 15 more pounds. I need to get my 40 time down to at least 4.63-4.68 somewhere in that area. I ran twice today at 4.72 and 4.75, It was windy but oh well......But I am happy to add that I will be the Running Backs Coach and Co-Offensive Coord. We will see how well this fits for me. I am a Defensive mentality but I love to establish the running game. Now only if I had someone like Marion Barber carrying the ball.
I am nervous because Even though I know the Entire game, I am more comfortable on the Defensive side.
My Running backs will learn to use balance to thier advantage, burst and acceleration drills (Weights...lots and lots), Eye Coordination drills- A red light in a dark room..., BLOCKING and CATCHING out of the Backfield. Everyone wants to break big gains and do Reggie Bush moves. That is not going to work in My offense. I am thinking about installing the Zone blocking scheme. If anyone has any suggestions or have coached the Position before.........Feel free to write me.
