Bobby Cox has managed the Braves for my entire life, things are gonna be wierd without him in the dugout, but it is time for a change, and the time is a few years past due.
I respect Bobby, but some of his decisions over the last few years really leave you scratching your head.
After Maddux and Glavine left it seemed like he forgot how to manage his pitchers, or maybe that was because we lost Leo Mazzoni as well.
What really got to me was how he managed the bull pen and how much emphasis he put on the righty-righty, lefty-lefty matchup.
I recall several times he brought in 3 relievers in one inning to face one batter in a close game.
I'm not a fan of this at all.
Bobby will be missed in Atlanta, and he's a no doubt Hall of Famer, but it was time to go.
Almost forgot about with Bobby leaving is the fact that Billy Wagner is gone to.
He threw his last MLB pitch during game 2 of the NLDS where he went down grabbing his side following a sacrifice bunt.
Never like to see a veteran end his career that way.
Billy is a potential Hall of Famer.
I've heard some say he is the third best closer of all time.
So long Bobby, and I'm excited for the Freddi Gonzalez era.
