What a week it has been in college football. We have seen the mighty fall and a few suprises along the way.
Did Marcus Lattimore just make it look to easy against Alabama? Alabama could not get a pass rush making the pass game flow for South Carolina, which in turned opened up the run game. What a complete game coached by Spurrier and his staff. With that win and florida losing to LSU it makes the SEC east race that much more interesting. Les Miles once again made us all eat our words with the calls he did vs UF. Without the turn overs caused by LSU I am sure it would have not been that close saturday night. Being a huge Gator fan it hurts to lose but I think all 90,000 people saw the fake field goal coming. I am now sure that florida has the athletes to win but is lacking coaches to help Urban Meyer win with the players they have. Play calling is a big issue right now. Addazio is clearly a problem right now. He is trying to make players who are not made for up the middle runs do it and not letting Brantley throw the ball enough. (sorry I am rambling, I am a disgruntled fan right now) This past weekend just shows that the SEC is up for grabs right now.
What a great win for South Carolina that opens up the race for some other teams to take the top spot such as Oregon.
Oregon showed that even with star players missing that the offense will still run a mile a minute. Let's hope everyone can come back healthy and fast to continue the offensive slaughter of the PAC-10. Other news in the Pac-10 : Kiffin, what are you going to do to motivate your team since they have nothing to play for but pride? Will that be enough to keep the season alive and going? Just play spoiler and that should be enough to rally the troops. Despite Jake Locker having a great game vs USC I still think he is Garbage. He is not always playing his best. #1 NFL draft pick....CRAZY TALK!
Every year #1 draft picks go up against each other and the game has huge implications. The game I am talking about, FLORIDA STATE vs MIAMI. Boy did this past game become a let down. Miami and Florida stae are on different levels right now. Shannon will be shown the door if he does not win out this year and another Coker type coach will come in and win big but let the players run wild. You can qoute me on that (hopefully this year). if Fisher continues to win like he has then the Oklahoma loss will be just a blip on the radar by season end.
YES, Denard Robinson is human and Michigan State defense proved it. With out his turnovers it could have been a win or a closer game. Congrats to SPARTY for coming through for their coach. Michigan better fix that defense. If MSU wins out and Ohio State wins out it will be interesting to see how the BIG-10 finishes.
Last but not least, Congrats to New Mexico State for winning over New Mexico on a late field goal. What a slug fest in a match up of nobody. Now lets see if New Mexico State can pull it together for the rest of the season. Doubt it. Both coaches will be looking for a new job at the end of the season or next.
One last side note that no one was paying attention to. Middle Tennessee just got back their suspended QB and had to play Troy. Troy has always been the Sun Belt hurrdle for most teams. Time for MTSU to step out and beat Troy for the Sun Belt lead and bragging rights. Well Troy won 42-13, putting MTSU right back into their place. When you talk a big game you need to at least make it close and act like you belong. Just a little side note from last week's games.
Until next time folks. Keep watching and get ready for another exciting week of college football!
Ps= Go Gators, please watch the fake field goals and be ready for Dan Mullen. Mullen vs Meyer, Student vs Teacher.
