You would think it was basketball season if you only saw the score between Auburn and Arkansas. 65-43. WOW. Watching a replay of that game would not be boring considering even the backups were making huge plays. Bummer Mallett went out hurt but it looks like his replacement is more than capable of shouldering the load unless Auburn's defense is just as bad as the Michigan D. Cam Newton is still putting up huge numbers and the real test of a defense comes against LSU. While LSU has had offensive problems, the LSU defense is the real reason Miles still has a job. I do not really see this game becoming a high scoring affair with LSU defense shutting things down and LSU offense struggling. Some how I am sure Les Miles will luck out another last second win!

Prediction  Auburn-17 LSU-6

The SEC WEST looks like it will turn into a 3-way race between Auburn, Alabama, and LSU. Arkansas could still be in the mix but to much will need to happen now that they have lost to Bama and Auburn. Depending on Saturday's game of LSU vs Auburn, the Auburn vs Alabama game could be for the SEC WEST ticket to Atlanta.

Where to begin with the SEC EAST. Being a florida fan it is much disappointment and wished of Cam Newton showing up in a Gator uniform next week in Jacksonville.

Thanks to South Carolina blowing the lead and losing to Kentucky, it is still anyone's ball game for the SEC EAST ticket to Atlanta. florida has to win out and they are in. With the way the Florida offense has been going that looks very hard right now. South Carolina still has a one game advantage over florida but must win out. They had a FAMOUS LETDOWN GAME that every one has after beating the #1 team in the nation. LOOKOUT WISCONSIN because you are traveling to IOWA this week.

The SEC EAST is so down this year that even VANDY has a shot at the SEC EAST spot in atlanta. The odds are strongly against them but you never know. The showdown with Florida and Georgia looked like a lack luster game when florida was 3-0 and Georgia was 1-3...but now new events have risen up and this game is a Winner take all in the SEC EAST race. Mark richt will have his players ready because this game could be the game to get him off the HOT SEAT and salavage whats left of the season! Georgia better not be looking ahead to the Cocktail party since a very dangerous Kentucky team is ready for them at home. Both teams have alot to play for but Mark Richt needs this win more.

Prediction Georgia-31 Kentucky-17

With how this season is shaping up I can see the SEC sending at least 6 teams to BOWL games. Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Mississippi State are for sure locks. In the East Florida, South Carolina are almost locks. Kentucky, Georgia, and Mississippi are the maybe teams looking to get to a bowl game. With how many bowl games are available to the NCAA maybe a 5-7 team can get invited!\

going to be interesting how things shake out in the SEC EAST since everything is a mess. the SEC always boasts how it is the strongest conference. With that in mind the SEC EAST picked a heck of a time to pull up lame! Thank goodness the SEC WEST is picking up the slack.

SIDE NOTE: Has anyone else noticed that SAN DIEGO STATE has put together an impressive season and minus 1 bad play and 1 blown call, could be undefeated giving the MWC another TOP TEAM to brag about and hang over the BCS office. Keep up the good work AZTECS and make New Mexico;s losing streak grow!

That's interesting about San Diego State. I wonder if they would be in the Top 25 if they were undefeated? That would be an odd site to see, but cool nonetheless. My boy Josh Johnson from Tampa Bay tore it up there!

I'm really interested in how Newton will do against LSU's D. He seems to be getting better. I have seen him play quite a bit this year and he is looking more and more comfortable.

S. Diego St. is interesting and quite a turn around from the past few years. They had Missouri on the ropes and somehow lost, not sure of the circumstances. I watched part of the AFA game last Saturday and thought they may have benefited from a questionable overturn of an Air Force touchdown. It was the old bent knee and then straighten act near the goal line that apparently led the official to believe that it for sure had hit the ground. If they had tagged Missouri with their only loss they for sure would be in top 25 now.

Good blog!

San Diego State had Missouri on a long 3rd down....and the Missouri broke the weak arm tackle....got a good block and was sprung for a 40 yard TD to win the game with only 40+ seconds left. Really good game! I did not get a chance to see the AF controversial call but did see the end where San Diego broke off a huge run to seal the game! San Diego will be in a prime position to take a leg up on the competition in the MWC with Utah and BYU leaving. Boise and TCU will run the conference!

As for Newton....he will do fine against LSU...just not putting up crazy numbers. LSU's Defense is what won them the game against WVU if you saw the game....if LSU needs a late offensive drive to win the game vs Auburn I dont know if it can happen.
