What do you call it when 75% of the roster is changed from year to year? You call it rebuilding! (Mike Shanahan) calls it retooling.  I call it quick fixing.  Some teams are very successful year to year by having a solid base of talent from which to replenish constantly, examples (Patriots),(Colts) and (Steelers)!  Others try quick fixes via (free agency) and that is where the problem lies.  Mike Shanahan does not have the patience to draw talent from the (draft) not to mention his poor judgement as a talent evaluator.  The model is broken and Mike Shanahan does not want to accept it, that is why (Pat Bowlen) the owner of the (Broncos )has to make the decision to let Mike Shanahan go at the end of the season.  Nothing personal against Mike Shanahan, but your model sucks.  No more quick fixes to solve years of neglect and bad choices.  Successful teams build thru the draft and only sign one or two complimentary players a year until their young talent is ready to perform. Mike do the right thing and let this franchise start a real rebuilding phase including the entire coaching staff!!!

Ever read Shanahan's bio. It refers to him as the "ultimate leader." That means he can't be fired. You can't fire an ultimate leader.

How are they in rebuilding mode? Not all teams that are losing are rebuilding. Some of them are just losing.

The Broncos were described as having the second most impressive offseason as far as player acquisitions. They picked up punter Todd Sauerbrun (boy, do I miss this guy on my PATS team), Daniel Graham (I miss him too), Dre Bly and I'm sure I can't remember some others.

Yep, you're right. He sucks and has done nothing for that franchise.

Mike Shanahan is a great coach. The issue here is Broncos fans. Myself a Broncos fan I can tell everyone the truth here. That is that we are a spoiled group of fans. That is just the way it is. Denver has been a legit contender for about 10-12 seasons. We as Broncos fans expect a Super Bowl every season, if not we want heads. just ask Jake Plummer.

If our team is not playing for the title we need someone to blame it on. Remember even John Elway has been booed at Mile High. The past few seasons it was easy to blame the erratic play of Jake Plummer, Jay Cutler has about a 3 year grace period until they call for his head as well.

Now coming into this season Denver added Stoakley, Grahm, Bly, Moss, Crowder, Adams, Sauerbrun, and Henry. That is a pretty impressive list of free agents. Hopes were high, now due to some key injuries and some bad games Denver is looked upon as one of the worst teams in the NFL. The truth is they are a team that is 1 game back in the AFC West a win this week vs. KC and a loss by SD to the Colts this Sunday would tie the Broncos for first place.

So what I am saying here is that the reason that Shannahan is not to blame for the turnaround in players. It is this franchise. We will not be like Colts fans and watch our QB throw 20 INT on thier way to a 14 loss season, knowing that in a few years he will turn that team around. We want to win and we want to win NOW! i am guilty of this myself I started a fan group to fire Jim Bates the teams new Defensive Coordinator. Watching the games I am not a fan of his schemes, but the truth is that win or lose we need to ride this season out. With young guys on this team like Dumerville, Cutler, Marshall, Young, Williams, and so on there are brighter days to come. Shanahan has gotten us there before and he will be there again.

This is a bit of a problem for Denver. I think that Mike Shanahan is a great "method" coach. By that I mean he has a very rigid system, and if he cannot find players to fit that system, or if another coach figures out how to contain it, then he's in trouble. His problem now is that he has not paid enough attention to depth on the offensive line, which is the most injury prone and most important position group in football. Tom Nalen is still very good, but at 40 the Broncos should have had someone waiting in the wings for 3 years now, but instead they waste money on guys like Travis Henry. The Orange One should not be fired, but he should have less say in personnel decisions. My suggestion? Bring in Bill Parcells to GM. Every team he goes to stays good after he leaves, and that's because he is a great talent evaluator. Denver could use him.

Mike Shanahan is a control freak, he would never reliquish the GM title to anyone else; especially Parcells.
