Offense

Linemen:

As of today's game the left side is probably the Cowboys strength on the o-line even with backup at guard playing.  The right side has Colombo who is in his 30s and Davis is breast blocking opponents and is also in his 30s.  Both of these guys should be put on notice that they're playing for their roster spot.

Running Backs

It looks like Barber is already auditioning for "Dancing With the Stars", because that is all he did in the backfield.  He never hit the hole or where the play was intended to be run.  Trade bait or cut?  Need to go with Felix Jones and Taushard Choice for the remainder of the season.

WRs

The recievers have great receiving stats, but there is one stat that is overlooked.  And that is tip balls for interceptions.  All the opponents' secondary needs to do is keep the Cowboys receivers in front of them and the pass will be tipped to them for the int.  Jerry Jones needs to go to his puschasing dept./office and tell them to keep receipts for those fancy receiver catching gloves.  So that Jerry can get his money back!

QB

I was hoping to see Kitna fired up and maybe have some players follow his lead.  I liked when he said that the Lions were going to be 10-6.  Even though they came short, Kitna showed leadership for the Lions.  Cowboys need to use that new draft pick on a quarterback.

Defense

D-Line

The D-line has been average at best and they seem to be the defense's strength.

Linebackers

Now to the weakness of the defense.  Bradie James and Keith Brooking have lacked discipline by over pursuing and not plugging holes.  They also can't cover anybody from the opposing team.  DeMarcus Ware and Anderson have their share of sacks, but none of the sacks are impact type sacks.  None of them seem to stop the opponents drives.

Secondary

They can't play man or zone, so the Cowboys are up the creek.  They also lack toughness (physical and mental).

Coaching

I hated to see Coach Phillips throw in the towel by saying that he doesn't have the answer for the team's woes.  What about placing his foot where the sun don't shine so maybe he can get these players to get their heads out of it.  It is not his fault that he has players who are not earning their millions.

Owner

I was glad to see Jerry Jones take responsibilty for the team's problems and it looks like he will take some over paid players behind the woodshed.  Hopefully, he tells them that they are playing for their jobs because these guys pulled a fast one on him.  These guys are not about championships and they are only there to collect their millions.  Next year, Jerry needs to acquire free agents from Super Bowl champions who can immediately contribut on and off the field and draft players from winning college programs.  None of the players on the Cowboys roster has ever anything at any level.  Brookings is the only has Super Bowl experience, but not winning.

I must disagree with you on one point. It IS Wade's fault that he cannot get the needed emphasis out of his players. Either you let the players know what the punishment is for not doing a professional job or you don't have a job. Yes Mr. Jones is heavily responsible for that too. And he deserves the blame for building this mess. But the coach must coach. He doesn't get a free pass because he works for a controlling owner.

You're probably right, but I feel for Phillips because I know how much he contributes to Texas football. Lets not forget that this is the highest payroll in the NFL.

And that is one of the many reasons that he has to take responsibility for what is going on. It is not all his fault but the coach knows that if he cannot get good results he will get fired for the bad ones. Jerry Jones selling wolf tickets hasn't done any favors for his team either. But you can tell that Wade is not in charge of his team. Mr. Jones is. And that is the biggest thing.

I think the main question is will the owner set his pride aside and hire someone who is going to be as strong willed as he is (or stronger) and turn over the team to them. The Cowboys need a coach who will kick them in the rear.

I think that Jerry invested a lot of money to players who will not earn it. He was basically fooled by great athletes who aren't great football players.

Poor scouting. Flashy players and football players don't often come in the same package. The best teams that were drafted Jimmy Johnson drafted those guys. Jerry has regretted firing him ever since really.

I disagree with Wade's coaching style, but I'll always wish him the best and was hoping he would bring a Super Bowl back to Dallas.
