RPM will be keeping Bud for the last 3 races and Richard Petty has become more involved with the team.

Evernham has said he will do what he can to help Richard out.

Kevin Harvick is making a charge in the Chase. Does he have enough to over take Jimmie and Denny?

Like I said the other day on T&R, .... Remember who got a truck load of money from Gillett when Gillett brought Evernham out to make it GEM....I would not be surprised to see Ray and wifey Erin Crocker buy back from Gillett at 10 cent on the $1 in bankruptcy court. Wonder if the hold up is Ray still has a tie into Chrysler / Dodge?

Wow, with Bruton's business savvy and Ray's racing knowledge they should be able to give NASCAR a run for their money.

Gosh I hope they dont decide to graduate to paved tracks in a couple years.

IRL was originally only going to run on ovals, remember?

No offense to Richard, but the best thing he could do would be to bring someone in who knows what they are doing. He's the King, but I don't think he knows about the "nuts and bolts" (pun intended) of the operation today. He needs to attract talented people who can set up the cars and the engines. I'm sure he could suggest some "innovations" but he needs to be a manager now.

Staying in Level Cross for so many years, put them behind the 8 ball. the best people didnt want to leave the charlotte area for one.

Furniture Row out in Denver, one car team, well, they are a Hendrick satellite, correct? not applicable.

RPM admitted they were behind when they up and moved a few years ago to charlotte area. But the gap was already wide, and the mergers and remerges of the last couple years have done nothing but throw chaos into an already tumultuous situation.

Face it.... No way in H that a Petty team can survive. Just too late.

Well, if The King could find a "sugar daddy" with more money than sense (Dan Snyder? Jerry Jones? Mark Cuban?), then RPM could survive. Whether or not they could truly compete is another question. This does not appear to be a very good time to be making a major investment into NASCAR racing teams or Warren Buffett would be poking around the garage area. As for Kevin Harvick, sure he has enough to overtake Denny and Jimmy. The last three races should be very interesting. I guess this is what they envisioned when they came up with the idea of the chase. I still think it is BS, but it is pretty interesting this year.

I agree with Juan. If they can find a deep pockets so they can go out and buy the equipment and personnel they need then they can survive and be competitive. They need to find someone with lots of money and maybe a little nostalgic to back them.

I think Jimmie is in a good position because the tracks are in his favor. He just has to avoid other wrecks and mechanical failure and he's got it in the bag...unless either Kevin or Denny have miracle runs.

I;m not so confident Burgh. Huge infusions of cash have failed already. Hope you're right.

The sweet part of that is Toyota has gotten too big, just like the 'big 3' back in the 1970's. The quality of cars and trucks they are putting out has diminished due to becoming complacence with their product.

Bottom line Ford is the new Toyota when it comes to quality, I'd buy anything Ford is producing (except any small 4-door compact which I find insulting).
