Baylor

Review:  Got taken down by the Red Raiders and it was a home game.  Offense couldn't do much of anything and the D couldn't hold the high-powered TTU offense...

Preview:  The Bears have to go to Norman to take on the Sooners where Stoops is something like 52-2.  If Baylor wants a chance of being within 14 points they have to play their best game all season.  If they want a shot to win they also need OU to play awful.

Colorado

Review:  The Buffs played Mizzou this Saturday in Boulder, Colorado.  The Buffs got beat 55-10 this Saturday.  The Buffs D couldn't stop Chase Daniel and the high-powered Mizzou offense.  The Buffs offense couldn't get nearly enough points on the board getting outgained by 400 yards.  The Buffs got beat 55-3 after they put the first 7 points on the board.....

Preview:  Colorado goes to Iowa State this weekend.  This is the probably the best 2-8 team in America and cannot overlook the Cyclones.  They should win if they don't break down like K-State did.  They have to keep their composure on the road and they should be able to pull out a W.

Iowa State

Review:  The Cyclones got their 2nd win of the year against the K-State Wildcats.  This is a big win for them as their offense showed up and their defense did enough to stop the Cats.

Preview:  ISU gets a home date with Colorado and if they play like they did against KSU, they have a shot at getting their second straight win.  A good thing for the Cyclones is that the Buffs are down after a 55-10 home loss against Missouri and Iowa State is coming off a big win over KSU.

Kansas

Review:  The Hawks had a huge win against the Huskers, dropping 76 and it wasn't a basketball game.  The downside is that the D gave up 39 points to a second string QB and a dismal offense but still--76 points???

Preview:  KU has to leave Lawrence for the second time this year and they have the toughest game of their season coming up.  They go to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys.  This one should be high-scoring if both offenses live up to the hype.  The Hawks need to prove their passing defense against a legit passing offense.

Kansas State

Review:  The Wildcats of Manhattan had a tough loss @ Iowa State on Saturday.  They didn't play well enough on offense or defense.  The offense only scored 20 on an OK defense at best.  The defense allowed 31 points to a meteoker offense.

Preview:  K-State goes to Nebraska and takes on the Huskers.  The Huskers have been falling apart and haven't been playing well at all.  Their offense showed signs of life against KU but the defense continues to struggle.  The Wildcats need to bounce back and should be able to against Nebraska

Missouri

Review:  The Tigers won big in Boulder this week against a decent Colorado team.  The offense played well as usual but the D came up huge only giving up 3 points in the final three quarters.  This was with the loss of Pig Brown.

Preview:  Mizzou has a home game against the Texas A&M Aggies.  As long as the offense continues to play well which they should against a lifeless A&M defense, the key for the Tigers is to stop Javorskie Lane, the Aggies big bruising back.

Nebraska:

Review:  The Huskers offense showed a pulse, putting up 39 in Lawrence but the D continues to play awful giving up 76 points, the most ever by a Nebraska football team.  Ganz looked better than Keller and looks like they should have put backup Ganz in earlier.

Preview:  Nebraska takes on the K-State Wildcats in Lincoln, NE.  If their D actually shows up they could get a win but if the same D that gave up 76 to KU, it could be another long day for Husker players, coaches, and fans.

Oklahoma

Review:  The Sooners beat down on the Aggies, 42-14.  The game wasn't even as close as the final score with the Aggies getting a last minute touchdown.  They have looked great at home but very inconsistent on the road.

Preview:  OU gets to play Baylor in Norman this weekend.  As long as they don't totally overlook the Bears they should win big.

Oklahoma State

Review:  The Cowboys gave up a 35-14 lead to the Longhorns and will look to take it out on the Jayhawks from Lawrence, Kansas.  The offense wasn't a problem and neither was the defense....until the fourth quarter.

Preview:  The Cowboys take on KU in Stillwater, Oklahoma this Saturday and looks to be a shootout.  If they want to win they have to play a full four quarters.  They also need to play a good defensive game against the Hawks and stay consistent on offense.

Texas

Review:  The Longhorns played an awful three quarters and an amazing fourth quarter to pull out a win in Stillwater.  Jamaal Charles had another huge fourth quarter.  The defense didn't do so hot until the fourth quarter.  If they play a top ten team, they can't do this or they will get beat down.

Preview:  The Horns play Texas Tech this weekend and it is a home game for Texas.  If they actually play well the whole game and don't wait till the fourth quarter they could make a statement and win big over the very good offensive team from Lubbock.

Texas A&M

Review:  The Aggies went to Norman and got annihilated by the Sooners.  The defense didn't show a pulse and the offense played awful.  They needed more from Javorskie but that still couldn't have salvaged this blowout.

Preview:  Texas A&M has to go to another pretty tough environment and take on another very good team.  If they want a shot they need J-Train, Javorskie Lane, to have a huge day and they need the passing game to show up.  The Aggies also need the D to make some stops against the really good Tiger offense.

Texas Tech

Review:  The Red Raiders won big against the Bears from Baylor.  The offense got back to playing well.  The defense only allowed seven points but it was against Baylor....

Preview:  The Red Raiders of TTU go to Austin to take on the Longhorns.  If the offense keeps playing well they might be able to outscore the Horns.  The D also needs to play better if they want to come away with the win in Austin.

 PREDICTIONS:

BU@OU-Baylor 3 Oklahoma 45--The Bears can't score and they can't hold the Sooners offense in this complete blowout.

CU@ISU-Colorado 21 Iowa State 27--The Cyclones get their second straight win just barely holding off the Buffs but it is just enough.

KU@OSU-Kansas 38 Oklahoma State 41--The Hawks can't quite win this shootout and suffer their first loss of the year.

KSU@NU-Kansas State 38 Nebraska 30--K-State comes up with a road win against a dismal Nebraska team.

TAM@MU-Texas A&M 17 Missouri 42--The Tigers play a great game from start to finish and the Aggies can't hang with the Tigers stuff.

TTU@UT-Texas Tech 31 Texas 34--Jamaal Charles comes up big as the Horns hang on against the Red Raiders

If Baylor wants to win they'll have to hope the Sooners have their cheerleaders suit up for the game. The Sooners didn't even lose to Baylor in our darkest hours (the 1990s).

Interested to see how Kansas-Okie State matchup. OSU has tons of distraction this week with their defensive star on trial for rape. Coming off a loss, but the past 4 years, OSU has won each game the weekend following their annual Texas loss. If OSU brings their A game, Kansas would have to play some stiff defense to stop the pass-happy Cowboys. Could be a fun game to watch.

Texas Tech could pull off an upset.

I'm surprised to see you pick the Cyclones over Colorado. I thought the Cyclones were the "Baylor" of the North.

November 8, 2007  11:11 PM ET

Iowa State is the best 2-8 team in the nation. They are coming off a win against a decent K-State team and in my opinion K-State is a much better team than Colorado. So if they play like they did against K-State, they should win this game. Colorado is coming off a beatdown, interesting to see if they can bounce back as they are playing for bowl eligibility...

I am also extremely interested in the KU-OSU game. Should be high scoring and fun to watch. KU also has a smaller distraction as their star receiver is being charged for theft but he will be playing this week.

And TTU has a legit shot to take down the Horns but I think that Jamaal Charles won't be stopped by the weak Red Raider defense and the game is in Austin which helps quite a bit.

BU@OU-Baylor 3 Oklahoma 45~~~~Sooners in complete blowout 62~10.

CU@ISU-Colorado 21 Iowa State 27~~~~The Cyclones try to hold off the Buffs but just cant get it done 31~24.

KU@OSU-Kansas 38 Oklahoma State 41~~~~The Hawks continue their damn lucky streak and it becomes a high-noon shootout for KU 48~24.

KSU@NU-Kansas State 38 Nebraska 30--K-State comes up with a road win against a dismal Nebraska team. Can I hear a "AMEN" KSU 42~21.

TAM@MU-Texas A&M 17 Missouri 42--The Tigers play a great game from start to finish and the Aggies can't hang with the Tigers stuff. I don't know, the Tigers claws are starting to get worn down a bit, MU 27~24

TTU@UT-Texas Tech 31 Texas 34--Jamaal Charles comes up big as the Horns hang on against the Red Raiders. The Red Raiders will peledge and plunder the horns and kiss their women this week. Horns

The darn thing sucked up my text before I was finished. I was going to say that it will be TT 38~27.
Night Train

November 9, 2007  08:18 AM ET

The Tigers claws can be removed and they will still score 35 on us. Mizzou 35 - A&M 15 (Fran goes for 2 because the "card" tells him to...even if it is a meaningless result)

November 9, 2007  02:47 PM ET

Read up more on Kansas before making predictions. They have won on the road at Manhattan, Boulder, and Kyle Field (one of the toughest on incoming teams). Kansas has a tough defense. Don't let the Nebraska numbers sway you. OSU relies heavily on the run and Kansas allows an average of 77 yards rushing including better rushing teams then OSU, CU and ATM. OSU main passing threat is one top notch reciever, but Kansas one of the highest rated backs in the country with Talib. In the end, watch KU shut down OSU. On the defense, OSU is one of the worst passing defenses in the country.....look at KU piling up the points. In the end, this one is won by more than 17 points.

You'll then have to do the 'I'll give KU respect when they beat xxxx team' all over again.

As far as the others, CU over Iowa St, Tech over Texas, no question with Mizzou or OU.

November 9, 2007  02:49 PM ET

Careful Sooner_girl, that Baylor of the North was one interception away from beating your Sooners! They've improved alot since earlier in the season, but now they won't be overlooked and will be played much harder.

November 9, 2007  04:18 PM ET

Yes, Crash, after ISU and Colorado, it's clear the Sooners don't travel, they just send their jerseys and hope for the best.

I haven't watched enough Iowa State to know whether they're any good. During the OU-ISU game I was too busy throwing things at the TV and yelling at the Sooners to wake up to notice what the cyclones were doing.

November 9, 2007  04:50 PM ET

Hard really to say clearly the sooners don't travel well. The Colorado game was the biggest disappointment but there were timely penalties and costly dropped passes at the wrong time that killed drives. Colorado also gets a lot of credit as they played very tough and physical the whole game. In the Iowa St. game it was mere inches on a bunch of passes that could have been touchdowns and again dropped passes hurt drives as well. Iowa St. was a much improved team than the week before when they played Texas and got hammered. Playing Missouri close shows that Iowa St. was better than their record shows. You have to remember this is Chizics first year at head coach.

November 9, 2007  08:22 PM ET

KU won on the road at Manhattan, Boulder, and Kyle Field--Manhattan pulled out a six point win against an OK team. Boulder--Squeaked out a win by 5 against the Buffs(Mizzou won by 45 in Bouler)Kyle Field--If you watched that game you can't say that the Aggies were playing with any heart and they still only lost by 8.....good wins, yes, but they aren't great wins...
And why would I not let the Nebraska numbers sway me? They gave up 39 points to an awful offense with a backup quarterback. All they needed to do was shut down Purify and Lucky but they couldn't so Bowman of OSU could be a problem for KU. And Talib has been burnt by many of the good recievers that they put him on. Jordy Nelson, I remember, burnt him pretty bad for a touchdown. Bowman may not be as good as Jordy but he is still very good.

If KU wins this one I will move them up in the rankings and give them more respect

November 11, 2007  10:38 AM ET

I was 4-2, not too bad...

November 11, 2007  10:38 AM ET

but could've been better

November 11, 2007  10:46 AM ET

So, MJ, did you see the Sooners? Horrible pass defense. Abysmal. If we don't find a secondary somewhere, the next two weeks could be ugly. If we can get Auston healthy to put some pressure on the QB, that'll help some.

November 11, 2007  02:01 PM ET

I didn't see much of the game but I heard they passed all over your secondary. But they could have been underestimating Baylor and it seems that they may not be as bad as they seem. Your D held Mizzou to its season low in points and we are pass-heavy so it seems to me like they kind of play to the level of their competition

November 11, 2007  02:39 PM ET

Wow.....must be impress with the Mizzou win. I mean, the only other BCS teams to let A&M score that many points on them was Baylor and Nebraska. Powerful Defense ya got there. But I'm sure its because they played with so much heart now being on the road, back to back loses and completely out of the Big12 South picture. Oh, and are 9th in the Big 12 on offense.

....and Kansas...........we just keep on rollin, rollin, rollin

12-0 has such a nice ring to it! :)

November 11, 2007  03:35 PM ET

Are you really going to go there? You ignorant Kansas fans really get old...Our defense isn't as good as yours but your offense is nowhere near ours. Yes, we allowed 26 points to A&M...but who allowed 39 to Nebraska? If I remember correctly Mizzou allowed them 6 points. You beat Colorado by five....we beat Colorado by 45...Oklahoma State in Stillwater is an impressive win, yes. But it's not a great win...if that is your best win congrats...Mizzou's beat an Illinois team that just beat Ohio State. Mizzou dominated a Colorado team on the road. Mizzou dominated Nebraska before their downfall. Mizzou dominated the high powered Texas Tech offense. Mizzou almost beat Oklahoma in Norman. The least amount of points we have put up is 31. Our defense is inconsistent but if it is playing at its best it is just as good as Kansas's. And don't even try to compare offenses. Actually if you want to compare offenses start a throwdown, Mizzou's offense is hands-down better than Kansas, we could have scored 80 on Nebraska but we didn't need to. We could've scored 70 on Texas Tech but we didn't need to. We could've put up 80 on Colorado but we didn't need to...

November 11, 2007  03:38 PM ET

Please go back to the trailer park you call Lawrence and never speak again...I wish Quantrill would have finished burning down Lawrence so I wouldn't have to state the obvious to ignorant Kansas fans....

November 11, 2007  03:41 PM ET

But seriously, if you want that throwdown please go ahead and do it Mizzou offense vs. Kansas offense

November 12, 2007  10:50 AM ET

Hit a nerve huh?

Just remember, offense isn't the only thing that wins games. Just ask Texas Tech.
