As a BCS conference, I find it emarassing at the number of "unimpressive" bowl games the Pac-10 plays in. The Pac-10 has-in my opinion- the worst bowl contracts of any BCS conference.
With the bowl season approaching rapidly, the Pac-10 will likely only have 4 eligible bowl teams (with USC under probation).
Here are the projections to this point:
BCS National Championship Game:
Oregon Ducks vs BCS 1 or 2
Stanford Cardinal vs Big 10 Champion
Valero Alamo Bowl:
Arizona vs Big 12
California vs Big 12
As you might notice, this leaves a few vacancies in the Pac-10 bowl schedule, most notably, in the Brut Sun Bowl.
With this said, might the BCS have to make a few exceptions and let a 5-7 team into the bowl scene? Could a 6-6 ASU make it to a bowl, even with 2 wins against FCS opponents? Or what about Oregon State at 5-7? Washington has a very good chance at winning it's final 3 games of the season to go 6-6, so perhaps they will slide into a bowl game.
Either way, these are questions the BCS will be forced to answer in order to fill their schedules.
