Not too much to report on here. There was plenty of action, but all in favor of the Sharks.

Patrick Marleau scored a power play goal at 2:39 to give his team a 4-2 lead. It was the 100th power play goal of his career and wound up being the game winning goal.

Jarret Stoll scored about 5 minutes later to bring the score to 4-3. Later on in the period, he was robbed of his second goal on a great pad save by Niittymaki.

Less than 45 seconds after Stoll's goal, Dany Heatley resonded with his 7th goal of the campaign.

With less than 4 minutes left, Joe Pavelski scored to cap off the scoring at 6-3 in favor of the Sharks.

Drew Doughty, in spite of his team's big loss, was a +3. He's already making his case for the Norris Trophy, an award I believe he was snubbed of last season.

Even with 13 different Sharks scoring, including a goal from every line, Marc Edouard-Vlasic still couldn't get his first point of the season.

Kings ended up outshooting the Sharks 35-34, but the Sharks dominated the final 40 minutes of play and Niittymaki came up with some huge saves down the stretch. Most notably, his pad save on Justin William's wrap-around in the 3rd.

Sharks get the win at home over the 1st place Kings. This is a big statement for the Sharks and I think the Kings will be chomping at the bit to get their revenge on this Sharks team.

For the Record: This is the Sharks first 3 game winning streak of the season. They are now 9-5-2 with 20 points. Meanwhile, the Kings remain in first in the Pacific with a 12-4-0 record and 24 points.
