So right after I posted this: USC Looks for Rare Win at Corvallis about how USC's offense could win the game for them but the defense had to stop Quizz Rodgers and about how USC should/could/definitely-for-once would win this game....everything I said turned out to be wrong. USC lost, 36-7, and the offense was atrocious. Thanks, Trojans. Really.
(No, really, sending good powerful healing thoughts to concussed Chris Galippo and Marc Tyler and Matt Barkley, who both left the game with ankle injuries).
And read about how dismally bad they played and how wrong my predictions were:

USC Stinks. Bush gave back his Heisman, when is USC going to give back the bowl money that they shouldn't have earned? Still waiting - - USC is now cursed until the end of time. Eat dirt USC. Beware if you go to USC. The money school will get its due.

He can't handle the truth!! You wanted Reggie on that field. You needed Reggie on that field. Reggie got obliterated and USC left him for dead and kept his paycheck!!

Not sour. Just disappointed that Bush lost what he earned and the school washed their hands of him. OK, USC lost a few wins and a Conference title. But why didn't USC have to give back the bowl money they shouldn't have earned? Killer Kowalski, you live is CA, was that issue ever discussed out there? Killer K may be before your time as he was a pro wrestler in the 60's and maybe early 70's.

Well I am a Horns fan and since they beat the trojans in the '06 NC my thought on Carroll is, he is an idiot. He kept the heisman winner* off the field on 4 and 1, handed off to White and didnt make it.Ball game! You guys remember right?

Wow I totally missed this whole debate. First of all, @Onetallflyer, I'm a she, not a he, and yes, I can actually handle that. I did want Reggie on the field, because at the time, I didn't know he or his family were accepting illegal benefits (though I can't speak for USC's athletics department) and he was damn fun to watch out there. We haven't seen so much of it in the NFL, but he was fast and flashy and exciting - why wouldn't I want him on the field? I also wouldn't say Reggie got "obliterated." Last I checked, he still had a pretty solid NFL contract, so I'm sure he'll be fine. I certainly hope USC hasn't been "cursed until the end of time" but hey, they did hire Lane Kiffin, so all bets are off (kidding! sort of). And as far as eating dirt, well, Les Miles eats grass...does dirt contain the same crazy voodoo magic? If so we should all be baking legit mud pies.
And @weatherford blue, YES I REMEMBER. It is seared in my brain. It was stupid. The end.
