It's been slightly over 2 years since i joined this site, and seeing as how i have seen others mark the occasion with a blog; i figured what the hell. I have had fun throughout the years coming on here when i'm bored, high, in a lecture, or when i can't fall asleep. I just wanted to say thanks to the fannation community. I may not be as active as some members -cough DJ cough- , but i have enjoyed everything everyone brings to the site. (well maybe not everyone)

Iv'e seen great members come and go on this site, but those that stayed are the ones i really want to thank. I will not list names, because well i don't want to leave people off and i'm not one for giving credit. To those i may have offended i'm sorry, but it's not personal; i'm a sarcastic SOB. It's been a fun two years, and i hope it will continue to be a good time.

Seeing as i'm not really one for this emotional or thank you stuff, i figured i'd throw in some random sports thoughts just to balance it out.

1. Paul Konerko may have played his last time in a White Sox uniform, but no matter what i don't think it should be the last I see #14 in Comiskey (yeah i still call it that). I believe that the captain has done enough to have his number retired by the organization. He ranks top 10 all time in most categories, brought a ring to the franchise, and represented the jersey with class and honor amongst other things.

2. adding to 1 Mark Buehrle should also receive that honor when he calls it quits

3. Cold weather = good news for bears. Cold weather + torn up Soldier Field from high school playoff games = great news for Bears. Cold Weather + torn up field + no respect for Bears = Eagles loss on Sunday

4. Derrick Rose asking "why can't i win the MVP" is starting to seem like a possibility. He's leading the Bulls to their best circus trip record since some dude named MJ played and scoring with ease without having even played with Boozer who's pick and roll game should open up the floor even more for Rose. Did i mention he already has made more 3's this year than any other full season in his career?

5. Phillip Rivers is my MVP, with Brady a close 2nd

6. How is Jonathan Toews not nominated for Sportsman of the year? Did anyone accomplish more over the past year? I'm sorry, but the 22 year old future Hall of Fame player deserves at least a nomination.

7. The Yankees should pay Derrick Jeter. He is the Yankees, and if he goes anywhere it will be an embarrassment to the organization. They have never been coy about money before, don't start now.

8. I realize it's just me: but i prefer the BCS to March Madness in terms of determining a proper champion. I'm sorry, but to me the best team ends up winning the BCS more so than March Madness. Don't get me wrong brackets are fun, but to me it's too watered down and makes the regular season games pointless.

9. Speaking of March Madness. THE REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS not the conference tournament champions should get an automatic bid. Why not reward the team with the best record against all the teams in the conference. Instead the current system makes the regular season worthless, and teams with losing records can make the field over teams everyone knows are better.

10. If Boise State makes it to the National Championship will they still complain that they aren't proper champs because they didn't get to play TCU? I don't think so, but they should unless they want to be viewed as hippocrates.

You come and go, CM.

Stick around. This site needs veteran TD'ers to offset the dupes and sports idiots.

I don't know why it pulled quote # 3 in there...

I see your point in number 8, but barring the perfect system, I like a system that gives more a chance then one that does not even give a chance to a deserving participant.

I would think a top 8 team playoff for football would do the trick. I have an easier time arguing that a number nine team, (that thinks they were a 5-8 team) should have made a better argument in the games they played, than telling a number 3 team, sorry we have no room for you. The number nine team is so far from the bubble that it does not matter.

When the bubble teams don't make the cut, it hurts for the team, but the media is not discussing a team that should have played for the National Championship.

number 9....totally agree. I think if a team wins their tourney, it should be used to boost (if it was weak) a total body of work, but should NOT give an auto bid.

Eagles dropped 3 touchdown passes in the first half... only reason Giants were even in that game.

November 26, 2010  06:42 PM ET

number 7... I am a Yankees fan, and they ARE going to over pay him.. however some contract wishes are insane. Now I can only go with what we have read, Jete has said nothing... but 6 years!?! Sorry, but in any business, particularly one that over pays as a rule, you have to negoite a contract based on what future contributions are going to be, not the past. The fact that Jete will also make a ton more in endorsement deals as a Yankee is certainly on the table. I think signing Mo and Lee are actually more important to the TEAM.

You were speaking of Chicago's captain, well this captain has a responsibility to his team as well.

Don't start with me you small stripy horse. :) The Giants had more than their share of mis cuses. The first Giant FG should have been a TD.

ok, sorry... I have been blogging all over your blog.

My problem with a playoff is it weakens the regular season. I believe more teams would be undefeated or 1 loss if it involved around 8 teams because they would schedule weaker non-conference games. Theirs no incentive for teams to try to prove they are #1 by going through a gauntlet, instead they can schedule cupcake teams knowing they only have to be in the top 8.

Also, when is this playoff to be played? These students are already out of the classroom enough, and any playoff would likely come during finals time or during the time these kids would be on break for holiday. Also, who says a playoff means the best team wins? I don't think the Giants where the best team when they won the Super Bowl, just the best on that day.

Their is no perfect answer, but to me the BCS is the best available. Your always going to have teams saying they deserve to be in the game.

I'm not saying a lifelong contract, I just have a problem with how they are handling it. It's like they are calling out Jeter daring him to take a chance and saying they don't owe anyone anything. I wish they could just negotiate in house, and if it takes a couple million more ;give it to him. If the gave AJ that much and that long of a contract, i think they can afford paying a little over value for a guy who's been their captain and brought them rings and memories.

I work with Giants fans. I had to hear it Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. What did they tell me... the Eagles didn't win. The Giants beat themselves.

All I can remember is
- a wide open DeSean Jackson dropped catch on a wide open long bomb early in the first half.
- a dropped DeSean Jackson catch in the end zone. Decent coverage but no one physically in range of DeSean.
- a dropped Jason Avant catch in the end zone - completely wide open.
- a 30+ yard bomb dropped by Jeremy Maclin at the nose of the end zone, which okay that one was well defended.

And then whatever Shawn Andrews called "blocking". Should have been more flags for that.

I'm an angry fan. I curse at the screen almost every play. Gotta keep my heart healthy or I'll have to give up watching football some day... doctor will say it's bad for my blood pressure.

I personally think that when a team beats itself, that is worse... I would certainly not try and tell anyone that the Giants are a better team than 1/2 the NFL.. It is not the sign of a good team that is as inconsistent on defense as they are with the dropped balls, (or tipped catchable balls that get intercepted) or the fumbles by our RB or the or (BP rising) the complete lack of an ability to make a quick, smart, decision by the puzzzzy for a QB!!! He is so used to sliding feet first, I can not fathom what the **** he was thinking when he passes the 1st down marker by MANY yards and then falls down on his face like a quadriplegic falling out of his scooter.
