Don Shula, as most of you know, stated that the Patriots should have a big fat * next to their season if they go undefeated. This is clearly ridicilous and anyone who thinks they deserve an asterisk is ignorant.

First of all, the camera was taken away in the FIRST half of the FIRST game of this season. How could it still be helping them if they handed over all of the tapes already and aren't doing it anymore? We all know they aren't doing it anymore because the Patriots are under the close watch of the NFL and, well, they don't need to. The video taping from the sidelines isn't that bad. It isn't because teams are allowed to tape the other team's sideline, just not from the sidelines. Oh and by the way, the Dolphins also lost a first round draft pick for cheating too. Does that mean Don Shula is asking that the Patriots AND his own Dolphins should have an asterisk? Hmmmm.

Ok, now back to Don Shula. Shula doesn't have any importance to the NFL anymore. He isn't a coach anymore and the only reason people are still talking about him is because he was the coach of the '72 Dolphins. I know, going undefeated is great, but in today's game, the players and coaches don't care because it's the past. The only people that care about the past are fans, former players and coaches, and voters for the Hall of Fame.

Another thing is that why did he wait until the Patriots beat the Colts to come out and say this? Why didn't he say anything about hoe disgraceful it was when it first happened? The truth is, Shula just wants to keep his legacy and to do that he thinks he has to tarnish another team's legacy. Actually, Shula is tarnishing his legacy, in my mind at least, by saying this.

Don Shula, please stop. Please stop bashing any team that looks like they might go undefeated. If they do go undefeated, celebrate them, don't look for ways to bring them down. They will not bring you down by going undefeated, your team will always be remembered as the FIRST team to go undefeated.
