Let's start off with a controversial statement mixed with some geometry.
LSU should play for the National Championship against Oregon iff Kansas loses one game.
Anybody who does not know what iff means (no it isnt a typo), it means if and only if.
Ok, now on with the show.
This is the year where the BCS is screwy and a playoff system is needed. There is no definite #1 and #2 like USC and Texas, Because OSU lost, There are 2 undefeated teams left in the nation. Because Hawaii sucks without Colt Brennan, I would automatically put Kansas in the NC. I know what youre thinking, they havent played anyone. They will be sorely tested in the coming weeks and will lose. My response is, in college football, even the Big XII, there is immense parity, especially this year. The fact that they put up 70+ points on the blackshirts is very impressive. Anyone whi still doubts Kansas should note that OK State beat Texas.
Item: Trade talks have been mentioned where Johan Santana gets sent to the Bronx Bombers for a package including Robinson Cano.
Good, we need to trade Johan, and second base is kind of a concern. Alexi Casilla is good, but Cano has played for a few years, he knows what he's doing. Johan will eventually end up in NY, so why not get something back for him...
Item: Adrian Peterson hurts his knee in 34-0 loss to Packers.
I dont think the bigger story is that Peterson got hurt. The Vikings got shut out in the regular season for the first time in about 15 years. (Other than that, 2001 NFC Championship, 41-0 Giants) This just proves the inconsistency of the quarterback position, and Brad Childress. They come off an enormous win over the Chargers, then lay an egg against the Pack. Somebody needs to do something about the offense if they can't play that well consistenly. Brooks Bollinger should start next week, because he is obviously the second best QB on the roster, and I dont think Kelly Holcomb will be back soon. Give up on Tarvaris for this year, until we are 3-10...

Item: The Gopher Football team is the only non-bowl eligible team in the B10.
This is just another testament to the year Tim Brewster is having, when Northwestern and Indiana both have 6 wins, but your team is sitting at the bottom of the cellar with 1, then you know it's bad...
