You all understand my frustration with UGA football. Top ranked recruiting classes, truckloads of talent, and poor offensive showings against OBC and SC, then getting waxed by UT. Then, out of nowhere, Coach RICHt decides that, now that he has fired himself as offensive coordinator (5 years too late), he suddenly has too much time on his hands. So, rather than sneak off and make out with the cute blond watergirl (who is a married mother of 4, I am told), he opts to brainstorm creative schemes for motivating his players. And guess what...It WORKS. Ripping a page out of the OBC creeps handbook, he becomes a headphone slammin', crowd waving, penalty grabbin', black jersey buying madman. I love this guy. All of a sudden, he has my DAWGS fired up and steamrolling everyone. And nobody in the league has caught on to this yet. Except, of course, OBC, who hates us so much he knows when one of our players blows his nose. So, he has to come up with some hateful vitriolic comeback, some manure about getting players thrown out of games for fighting. One day, I will visit his gravesite. And before I go, I am going to drink 128 ounces of Gatorade. But back to Coach Richt. What an amazingly brilliant transformation. So many people underestimate the impact of psychology in sports. Especially in college sports. Screaming coaches, screaming crowds, and screaming players just win more games. Period. Look at Miami in the 80's. Sure, everybody hated them, but nobody beat them. Our problem is, it is too late. We have already given the SEC east to #20 UT. All we can hope for is that at-large bid for the BCS. That, and crushing Tech about 120-0. So right now, I am gladly eating my words about firing Coach Richt. With barbecue sauce on them. I owe him an apology. Sorry, Coach.
And to Kermit Perry, I hope you enjoyed that shellacing your precious Tigers took Saturday, you old shameless traitor. I hope your neighbor came over and sprayed you in the face with a garden hose. I hope you get gallstones. Love always, Hairgut.
