1. LSU
Lower: Lost to Kentucky but this looks like an OK loss now with Kentucky top 25...
2. Oklahoma
Higher: Have looked impressive for the most part...a little shaky on the road but overall a solid team with a good win over Mizzou.
Lower: Loss is @Colorado which isn't very impressive...also their secondary looked awful against Baylor but should be able to get it together..
3. Missouri
Higher: Can't pass OU unless they lose another one but might get a shot in the Big XII Championship if they take care of business the next two weeks
Lower: Allowed 26 points to a pretty bad A&M team and the D is questionable but has come up big in key games...except Oklahoma.
4. Kansas
Higher: They are in a BCS conference and they are undefeated. Just beat a good team on the road and proved to the country that they are pretty good.
Lower: Still have only played one team in the top 40...
5. Oregon
Higher: They have some pretty good wins over USC and @Michigan...also a big win over one loss ASU...
Lower: Loss to Cal isn't that bad but a top 5 team should have won.
6. West Virginia
Higher: Showed they could win a close one against Louisville this weekend...
Lower: This game should not have been close in the first place...
7. Georgia
Higher: The Dawgs have won @Alabama, @Florida, and against Auburn. These are very good wins.
Lower: Georgia lost to South Carolina and Tennessee. Neither of these looking that great...
8. Ohio State
Higher: Only loss is to Illinois, an up and coming program...
Lower: This game was a home game. The Buckeyes don't have any great wins...
9. Arizona State
Higher: Only have one loss which was @Oregon
Lower: Lost by 12 against the Ducks...can prove they are legit top 10 if they beat USC this weekend.
10. Virginia Tech
Higher: Won at Clemson and won big against Florida State this weekend.
Lower: Got blown out by LSU earlier in the year and got beat by BC...
On the Verge: Hawaii, Florida, USC

Oregon at five? LOL. Prepare to be flamed, my friend.
If you haven't watched Oregon play you need to. They're really good.

But I don't see them being better than OU or MU, maybe I am biased...they might pass KU but they are undefeated which has to count for something...

IMO, Mizzou would beat Kansas on a neutral field and Oregon would get beat by the top 5 on a neutral field except maybe ku

Well, rundmv (which is a hilarious name, btw), at least it's a home game for you.
I pretty much agree with Super Squirrel.
I'd go
1/2 toss up btwn KU/UO
3/4 toss up btwn LSU/OU
5/6 toss up btwn Missouri/WVU

this is how it is: I like lsu at one, very good strong team, but losing to kentucky is bad,but then i would put oregon ive only watched one full game of theirs thou, and that was the asu game in which they played well, then u have to put ou(because they beat mu) even thou mu will win in the big 12 champ., then mu, very good offense and a defense that has stepped up when needed even thou giving up 26 to tamu is bad, and then kansas, god kansas, who has played only the cowboys it seems like yet evrybody keeps raving, about undefeated but seriously who have they played, GUARANTEE mu beats ku. Natnl champ MU vs. Oregon(lsu losses to georgia in sec title.) even though i love mu they wont win that one

here is how it is, mu and ku win this week and the night before the thanksgiving game mangino has a heart attack and dies and ku not knowing what to do loses badly to a great MIZZOU team. Then the tigers ride the momentum to whoop OU and get into the championship game where they beat LSU and Chase Daniel wins the heisman from having great games in all of them.

I guess I'm in the minority but I still think it all comes down to record. Playing in a bcs conference means playing teams with a certain percieved talent. ie about mid-major, div 2, 3, etc. To argue about conference strength is an effort in futility, because until the end of the season, no one knows for sure. The body of work for non-conference games is too small to judge. The SEC went 5-5 in non-conference this year, yet if they were as dominate as everyone else thinks, shouldn't they be 10-0, 9-1, 8-2?
So record first, then when teams have the same record, factor in strength of schedule (based on polls after 11/1), style, home/away loss, etc.
Is it completely fair....no. But its simple and will be almost always right by the end of the season when everything is shaken up.
And no matter what the original poster said.....no one ever no who's going to win....that's why they actually play the games.
top 5
KU - if they aren't that good, they will fall when they play MU/OU
LSU - most top30 competion, solid loss in 3OT to top 25 team
MU - few top 30 wins, only loss to top 5 team on the road
Oregon - two top ten wins, poor loss at home
OK - one top 10 win, poor loss on the road

You can't really put Mizzou in front of OU because they beat Mizzou

I like this list. I think that OU is a legitimate BCS team. Missouri should be there too.
Too bad that all three Big 12 teams won't be in the hunt!

Yeah I know...hopefully Mizzou will win this weekend and they will take KU down then they will have an extremely tough game against OU

You can put Mizzou ahead of OU. The polls both human and computers do it all the time. It seems counter intuitive but the way you have to look at is who they lost to. Mizzou's only loss is to a top 5 team, OU's loss is to a team not even in the top 50. The poll's should consider the whole schedule and not any one game, so as a whole, OU's lost is much worse so Mizzou is ranked ahead of them. Loses are almost always graded with more weight than what victories you have. Although all rankings are interrupted differently.

But OU proved they could beat Mizzou. Mizzou did not prove that they could beat OU therefore OU should be ranked in front of Mizzou unless they lose again....

true mitchell, thou i do like what crash said the ou loss is horrible but they did beat mizzou, it doesnt matter, mu goes to NC and wins, but against who i dont know b/c i still think lsu will lose to georgia, lsu's last week barely win(again) over alabama proved to me that they wont contend, u look like a genius after that oregon loss too
