according to the Daily News, A-Rod is going to talk to the yanks directly to come back since there is no market for him outside of New York and this is the best place for him to be - which was my opinion from the get go.
Couple of things:
1 - Yanks save face because they can sign A-Rod w/o having Boras involved saying opting out was all Boras' fault
2 - A-Rod saves face by blaming Boras
3 - Boras does Texas a solid (and preserves his reputation amongst GMs) since he got Texas off the hook for the $$ they owe the Yanks
4 - I bet Los Angels (the angels) trade with the Marlins for Cabrera and don't have to give up the farm to do it since:
* he is a premier player that is going to command mucho dinero so the Marlins know they can't afford to keep him
*the marlins don't like his partying and lack of work ethic
* this is the bat the Angels need to protect Guerrero
