I doubt many folks outside the rainy state of Oregon will agree with this, but it's time to face facts. First of all the SEC is not the be-all, end-all of college football. Second, and most importantly Oregon has a better team than Auburn.
Auburn is mainly a one-man offensive show. Cam Newton is an amazing talent, but overall Oregon's offense is more dominant. Oregon averages 49.3 points per game (PPG) while Auburn averages 42.7. Advantage Oregon.
Oregon's offense averages more yards than the Cam show. 537.5 yards per game (YPG) for Oregon, but 497.7 YPG for the Cam show. Advantage Oregon.
Even though offensively Oregon has the advantage defense is where the game will be won by Oregon. Oregon has a much underrated defense (due to the potency of its offense), allowing only18.4 ppg and 331.6 ypg. Auburn's defense has one great player Nick Fairly but even he can't make up for all the other weaknesses of the team defense. Auburn avereages 362.15 ypg and 24.5 ppg. And on turnovers Oregon is +13, while Auburn is +5. Defensively, a huge advantage to Oregon.
Considering the potency of Oregon's offense one can expect Auburn to give up 35+ points. The Cam show should put up around 24-28 points.
Final score 37-28 Oregon.

Oregon didn't exactly play a stacked schedule this season; a 5-7 team (Cal) held them to just 15 points after they had been stomping all over the PAC-10 week after week. you can guarantee Auburn has been watching that game tape over and over. also, Auburn is pretty tough against the run...hope James and the Ducks' O-line are ready for some 'smashmouth' football.
i'd like to see a close game and i believe these two teams will deliver just that.

First: Who thinks the SEC is the be-all, end-all of College Football? I don't know anybody that thinks that, and I live in the heart of the SEC. The talking heads seen to think the SEC is the better conference but most of them are idiots .... Generaly speaking, the defense's in the SEC are a little tougher than the Pac-10 but that means nothing here. 2nd: Vegas has Auburn as a 2 point favorite. Only 60% of the betting public is on oREGON (ML) 70% on Auburn (side)

Not trying to bash, but looks like the numbers analysis didn't quite hit the target this time.
