That's right; I stayed up to watch the whole game. That's right; I have a 9-5 job tomorrow. I have ~2.5 flex hours to work with tomorrow, so don't fret readers.
I'll be honest, I was rooting for Oregon. I was actually born in Tucson (pronounced Two-son), and my mom went to UofA, but I'm too big of a college football fan to want to see Oregon go down. I really wanted to see LSU vs. Oregon. That Oregon O was too impressive looking before Dixon went down. Gah! That would've been a good game. Once Dixon went down, you could see the life go out of the Oregon team. I was really disappointed to see Dennis Dixon go down (not b/c he played for the Braves' minor league team for a little while either). Then Oregon lost Stewart? Jeez. Jonathon Stewart didn't look all that great without Dixon anyways, but what can you expect when an athlete as good as Dixon goes down? He draws so much attention away from everybody else. Who's #3? Kansas?! Jeez. I'll be honest: I would like to see Kansas against a real out-of-conference team if they beat Mizzou and Oklahoma, but I don't know if I want that team to be a National Champion contendor (whoever that may be; at the moment: LSU). I just don't want to see LSU blow 'em out; I don't want to see LSU blow out anybody (I think a Big 12 team is more likely to be blown out). My honest-to-God opinion on who should be main contendor: WVU. The D is better than an average Big East team, and they have definite playmakers on offense. I guess Kansas does deserve to be in the BCS championship game if they do win-out. Then again, Oklahoma "deserved" to be in the National Championship game at the end of the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
Should a Heisman winner carry a team or simply play great on a great team? Herschel did carry the 1980 Dawgs, so I'll say that it's ok to carry a team (like how my morals are shaped by my experiences?). Tebow does carry the main load for UF, except for Harvin when he's healthy, so I think Tebow's got the Heisman in the bag now. Dang it! Further proof that Florida is the luckiest team in the NCAA: they win the National Championship with one loss on a definite down year (UGA had one loss in 2002 and guess who beat them?) in NCAA football and their QB wins as a sophomore with 3 losses. The only time on NCAA, the game, I have completed a last-second game-winning touchdown in a rivalry game was with which team? Florida. I did it against FSU for the record.
Do I hear griping in the distance? That must mean a playoff is nigh. It is mating season for playoof calls right now, i.e. winter.

No, no playoff. The BCS has survived everything so far. Like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going and going and going.
If Dixon makes it back to play (which I doubt) this game only proves his worth and he could win. If he's out for the season I just don't know.
Dixon seems like a good kid. Hate to see him hurt.

I agree with the sooner, although i didnt read the entire blog, a playoff isn't necessary yet, let the games play out, I feel bad for dixon too, i thought he had it, they (probably) would have won that game had he not gone down. Who is gonna win the heisman now? And i went back up and read some of your "story" and personally Wva would get smoked by oklahoma

A playoff isn't necessary...yet.
I think that the BCS is walking a very thin line after the 2003 and 2004 seasons, but a playoff is inevitable. Enough people's teams are going to get screwed out of the big picture to create a big enough backlash.
This year will be different b/c there are so many 1 lossers; how do you decide which two to pick? Preseason rankings? That's ludicrous: let's decide who goes to the NC game based on rankings that were not based on a season of work at all.
A playoff will happen, but when is the next question.

Tebo is a shue-in for the Heisman now. I'm sad to see Dixon go down like that though. He is an amazing player and I hope his injury isn't that bad that he out for the rest of the season and possibly his potentail NFL career.

There's a "slim" chance Glen Dorsey may get the Heisman - Florida's 3 losses can hurt Tebow's chances of winning it.

Yeah, I mentionned Dorsey in Osu poo's blog. He is the best player on the best team in the nation, so why not? Right?
I can't help but think that Tebow has the edge right now b/c of all the press.
Reesing should get it if he leads his team to wins over Mizzou and Oklahoma.

We saw what Oregon can bring to the table without their QB. Not much. Dixon is 70 percent of that team. I truly think Oklahoma and LSU are the best two teams. I have thought that for weeks. But, if Kansas can do it and go undefeated beating two more BCS Top Ten teams they would be my #1 and LSU would be 2.

Oregon's ultimate frisbee captain took a huge hit last night. If he goes down by invisible tacklers just think what LSU woul've done.
I think West Virginia is the next best team in the country. They could hold their own for a few quarters maybe. There are no Big XII teams that wouldn't get smacked. I guess we'll have to see what happens with Arizona State.

Florida is not lucky; they're awesome. The only reason they didn't beat everybody this year is because the defense is too young and banged up. You'd trade Moreno and Stafford for Tebow in a heartbeat.

Nah man, although athletic QB's are nice to have, they get banged up too easily (I know all too well from Shockley). I like the pro-style QB's too much, even if fast QB's are cool to watch and play with on video games. QB is too important of a position to risk having him getting tackled 5+ times a game. That's why Oregon lost to Arizona, and that's why Florida lost to Georgia: injury to the QB. Now give me a pro-style QB who makes great passes in the pocket and is able to get away from pursuers too; that's a QB I'd like to have, not one who is great at designed runs or reads.
