The most important game of the season , one win away from going to the Super Bowl in Dallas , and Jay Cutler taps out , quits on his team with a fathom knee injury . Now I see why Denver got rid of your sorry ass you're a whiner , a pouter , and a quitter . I listen to a sound bite and LaDamian Thomas of the Jets was asking his teammates if they were ready to die for a win and went on to say he was ready to what about you . It was a bit much but you got his point he was willing to give his all for his team leave it out on the field . Unlike an over paid pouting , quitter name Jay my knee hurts I can't go any farther to help my team I'm done Cutler. Brother if you were able to stand on that leg , ride a stationary bike on the sidelines , then you should have been man enough to tough it out and play . Instead you quit like the p#$$y loser you are . But thanks to a 3rd string quarterback name Caleb Hanie who came in and put points on the board got the fans excited along with the defense and almost pulled off a win for his team , he did what Quittler couldn't do . Had it not been for a couple of bad decisions on his part he may have pulled it off . Hats off to him and the defense that came through at the end but it was too little too late but they left it all out on the field . As for Jay Cutler you are officially branded as a weak suck , and an NFL QUITTER !

I didn't see the end of the game. Were any of his teammates hanging with him?

It's funny you compare Cutler to LT. Did you watch LT when he was still with the Chargers in the playoffs; on the sideline with an injury? He didn't look much different than Cutler did yesterday. Cutler comes across as an arrogant guy; no question, but his teammates love him and are backing him 100%. As bad as he was last year and as bad as his O-line was this year, he never pointed his finger once; not once! And after the beating he took earlier in the year, I don't think you can question his toughness. I think he's just a guy who always looks like he's trying to look like he doesn't care about a thing. It's too bad for him, because most players would be showing the whole world (because they know the cameras are on them) how upset they are that they can't play. I could be wrong, but this isn't a guy who's been known to do this before - I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

They said his knee was wobbling back and forth. That sounds pretty bad to me. He gets an MRI today and we'll know how bad it is/was. I think everyone should withhold judgment until then.

He had a torn ligament. That is a very serious injury and every ortohpedist in the world would have told him to not play.

A "fathom" Knee injury, wow....that is a deep one.

For the record: Cutler has a sprained MCL and was pulled from the game by the coaches. He did not quit. As K. McDuff suggested above, people should withhold judgment until they know all the facts. I'm a Bears fan and I'm glad he's our QB.

I think you have a valid point. Urlacher came out in support for him. That's all I needed to hear.

I'm not sure what to think at this point, a sprained MCL, I've had one and its not that bad, it does hurt but I think he should have continued, but thats just me. I do know one thing, the man has no mental toughness!! The man cried when his toughness was questioned, that should have pissssed him off, and made him MAD!!

So you've had a sprained MCL, big deal. And when you sprained it what were doing? Probably not playing Professional Football! Probably not being chased down by 300lb line man and getting knocked down play after play after play, were you?
The Funny thing is if he stayed in and played horrible and then you found out he was hurt you'd be mad at him for hiding his injury.

More Jay bashing before the facts come out...What a shocker!
And after the facts did come out, did the "Chosen Few" come back and comment...I didn't think so.

Bad write up Chosen Few. I see your point in the quick reaction, but now what's your stance. Cutty is the best the Bears have seen in quite a while, and we WILL win with him. He didn't quit, and if we win that game with him, he doesn't play the superbowl.

What... No retractions? No corrections? Not even a spell check????
I've been accustomed to reading this blog for a couple weeks because I thought the writer was a step better then the average fan with time on his hands. Looks like I was mistaken. I'm not a Bears fan, but I'd be proud to call myself one today. If nothing else the Bears are what a team should be. Perhaps getting off the couch and doing something instead of calling out bigger, and better, men than you from the comforts (and cowardly privacy) of your home (or maybe your moms) is how you roll.....

FYI How much time does it take to write a blog? I'm just a former jock that played bball, fball, and other sports and played hurt. If a man can't can't sacrifice for what could be his best chance to get to a SB he's a wimp!

Chosen, usually enjoy your blogs, etc. but I think you have this one wrong. Using LDT as the shining example of sacrifice after the crap he pulled in SD? Not your best move. I don't think I have ever seen Cutler quit and I have seen him take some poundings. Yup, his leg wasn't broken, but he did come out and try to play that second half. Removing himself from the game was probably the most selfless thing he could do. The guy couldn't throw with any type of power and his mobilization ability was severely damaged. I wouldn't want that guy in there as my QB against one of the best defenses in the NFL...

Being a true Bear fan maybe I'am being a little tough on J Cud but we were so close and it was so disappointing to see him standing on the sidelines not playing. One win away from the big banana and you tap out. Thats a bitter pill to swallow.

I wouldn't say that Jay tapped out, I would say that the corner man threw in the towel. It was the training staff and coaches that took Jay out of the game because they thought that he could no longer be affective. I feel your pain as for not making it to the big game, I wanted it as much as the next guy, but if your QB can't scramble or plant his foot to throw, you do the next best thing. Haven't we all learned from Favre making that mistake of staying in the game and playing hurt and eventually causing his team to lose with a stupid play were he tried to do too much.
