04:35 PM ET 02.02 | Finally,February is here and it marks the countdown to Spring training for me. I didn't need Phil to not see his shadow for me to realize that winter is fading away sooner rather than later. Spring Training starts an exciting time for baseball fans. We get to talk roster spots,rookies in camp and projections with others loyal fans of our respective teams. Each team has a fresh start, those who limped to the finish line can erase those memories and those who finished srong can try and build on that late success. Fans get a chance to dream about the year that could be.They can make statements like " If Dunn comes over and mashes 40 with Peavy bouncing back the the Sox could be in the hunt come September" or "If Greinke and Marcum come to the NL and deal then the Brew Crew offense should do the rest." I know meaningful baseball is still almost 2 months off but when pitchers and catchers report, we all know baseball is right around the corner.
