Hey, this is Cheezhead blogging for the Minnesota Haters United. This group seems kind of inactive, so I'm trying to move it along a bit. I decided to blog about this year of NFC North football. The Packers have found their way on top after 2 years of so-so football. They stand at 9-1, and their only loss was to the rival Chicago Bears, who I believe won't sweep the Pack when they meet again later in the year. The 2nd place Lions have dropped 2 in row (now 6-4) and will most likely make it 3 when they face Green Bay on Thanksgiving Day. The Vikings, well, are the Vikequeens. And that's mainly what this blog is about: Packers > Vikings.
Game 1: The Packers-Vikings rivalry was started up again this year with a historic game. Almost right away Favre threw a pass that broke Dan Marino's all-time touchdown record. To top it all off, it was at the Metrodome! Packer fans had bragging rights after a victory, and were sure to say "Hey, how was your Sunday" to the Viking fans at the water cooler the next day.
Game 2: If anybody thought Minnesota was going to win this one, it was probably only because Adrian Peterson, a rookie, broke an NFL record in single-game rushing yards. Well, we know what happens. But I'll tell you anyway, just because it's fun telling this story. The Pack Attack controlled the whole game. Up 27-0 late in the third quarter, AP, who didn't do too much all game, got a screen pass and made a huge rookie mistake. That rookie mistake was taking on Al Harris. Al took out his knees and took him out of the game. The cheeseheads went wild again after a 34-0 win.
So that proves who was the more dominate team in that rivalry. And it seems like the Packers will destroy the rest of the field and get a first round bye with home field advantage. The only roadblock in their way is the Dallas Cowboys. So the 2007-2008 is another Year of the Pack.
If anybody would like to do anything to keep this group going, I'll try to help.
